Miracles of my life!

To continue the wonderful stories of my life and my walk with God. When my first daughter was seven years old, she fell off a jungle gym onto the cement below.  She landed squarely on the top of her head.

The aftercare centre phoned me and my husband and I rushed there.  She was sitting in a chair and looked okay.   I asked her her name and she answered me and seemed completely normal.

Following my maternal instinct, I just knew that things were not right with her.   We raced her to our family doctor.  He  did all the tests for concussion and she seemed to respond very well.  Turning to me he said "Mom how do you feel about her?"  I said that I was not happy.  So he said neither was he despite her passing all the response tests.

We were told to get her to Zandfontein clinic for a skull Xray and on the way there, racing from Midrand, she went into cardiac arrest.  I leapt over the seat and started CPR.  I managed to resuscitate  her in the car.  When we arrived there, my husband opened the back door of the car and grabbed her and raced into the hospital with me hot on his heels.

I will never forget it was a very black Monday afternoon with one of those typical Highveld storms just starting.  She puked all over his shoulder as he ran.  He was shouting for a doctor. A lady doctor appeared at the top of the steps and called us to get up the stairs to her rooms.

We ran in with her leading the way.  She quickly examined Nikki and turning to us said:  "This child is dying.  There is huge pressure on her brain and you need to get her to Sandton Medi Clinic as soon as possible.  Don't wait for an ambulance and I will phone ahead and get neuro surgeons to meet you in the parking lot."  She asked us for the make and registration of the car and told us not to stop for anything even police.  Just to race to Sandton Clinic.

We ran back out to the car and my husband put my daughter back in the back seat and I jumped in with her.  She was deathly pale and her breathing was very shallow.  I prayed to God for His help!

We raced to Sandton Clinic.  It took just 6 minutes to get there and as we raced into the parking lot there were three doctors and a stretcher there and they raced to car and grabbed my daughter and stretchered her into the hospital all of them running at full speed.

My husband followed them and I was asked to stay and fill out the forms to do the necessary surgery in case they were going to operate.

I now started praying aloud to God.  I was filling out forms and crying and praying to God.  People were looking at me as if I had gone completely mad.  I didn't care and prayed louder.

Now apparently my daughter was rushed into the MRI unit to scan and see where the bleeding was.  My husband just followed and nobody even objected.  So he was watching the surgeons scan her and he could see the scan and the bleeding.

Then he said a miracle occurred.  The bleeding stopped and all of a sudden receded.  The doctors were amazed.  The next thing is my daughter sat up and said " I want my mommy" before collapsing back into a coma.

The doctors were completely stunned and told my husband that no operation was necessary.  They put her into an induced coma for 72 hours but they said that the fact that she sat up and spoke, showed them that she was going to be fine.  The brain just needed time to rest.

True to this 72 hours after this, they brought her out of the coma and she came home, fine.

GOD IS AWESOME AND HE HEARS OUR PRAYERS! THANK YOU GOD FOR SAVING MY PRECIOUS DAUGHTER.  That was 28 years ago and my daughter is now expecting my first grandchild, a little girl in December!
