The Day God told me how to read my Bible

I was walking on the beach seven years ago.  I was having a conversation with God.  He was telling me that I do not read my Bible properly. 

I said "God please tell me how to read it then?"  He said.  "Start at the very beginning and then go through it until the end."  

I said that I would try it.  So dutifully I went back home and started to read my Bible at the very beginning and I read it straight through. I read a little each morning.  It took me just on a year.  What a wonderful year!  I learned such a lot.  

So once again I found myself walking on the same beach.  I was having a conversation with God.  "Did you learn anything from reading your Bible the way I told you"  "Yes Father"  I said.  " I learnt a lot and a lot of things suddenly made really good sense. I loved it.  Every moment of it.  Some of it was a bit long winded, like all the begats, but otherwise I really and truly enjoyed it.  So what now?" 
The voice came back strongly "Do it again, exactly the same and when you have finished, do it again"

So I now read my Bible cover to cover.  Each time around I learn something new and it is always exciting.  In the morning I get up go into a room by myself and read my daily devotionals.  I then get down on my knees and I pray to God.  I have a list of people that I pray for.  I then go back to bed with a cup of coffee and read my Bible.  My husband wakes up and he reads his Bible and we pray together when we are both finished.  Then we get up and start our day.

I absolutely love the quiet time with God and I have learned so much about our wonderful Father in heaven!
