Who are we in Christ Jesus

Ephesians 4:8   “This is why it says: When he ascended on high,
he took many captives and gave gifts to his people.”

It is time to consider “Who we really are?” Not just in our own minds, but in the mind of the most important one in our lives, Christ Jesus and our awesome God.

We have all been given gifts; in the verse above, it is clearly stated.  We are HIS people and we have all been given gifts.  The more we use them, the more we shall be given.  This is written about in the parable about the talents, (Matthew 25: 14-30).  This is not just a parable, it is true today.  To illustrate this there is an old saying: “if you want to get something done quickly, just ask a busy person to do it!”

In Christ, we need to get busy using our talents.  It is too easy to opt out and say “I don’t have the time to read my bible, I don’t have the time to go to Church. I don’t have the time to talk to fellow Christians. I don’t have the time to pray every day. I don’t have time to help others.”  We all have 24 hours in each day.  None are given more and none less.

Let us not be those people who say that we are too busy.  Let us set aside time each and every day for Christ and for our Father God.   We need to communicate with God.  The best way to do this is to withdraw from company and go somewhere by yourself and talk to God and to read His word.  He will listen and if you listen, you will hear Him talking to you.
Start or end your day with a prayer with your loved ones and if you can, read your bible as you do this.

The gifts we have all been given must be used and through these we glorify our God.   As you draw closer to God, you will quickly see your gifts.  God will show you where you can use them.

Prayer: Dear God, awesome Father, please help me to set aside time every single day.  To talk to you, to read your word, to use my gifts.  Father I really want a good relationship with you and humbly ask that you open my heart and show me where I can spend more time with you and in your service.  I pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, who fills the universe with His love and his light.  Amen.

Who are we in Christ

Corinthians 1:21 “The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!”

As we contemplate “Who are we in Christ" we need to consider our role as Christians in the world and how we manifest to other people.  By manifest, what we mean is, how we can show the rest of the world that we are Christians and that they are missing out on the greatest gift of all.  The love of God, the fellowship of our Lord, Jesus Christ and the comfort of the Holy Spirit, living and actively working in each one of us.

So let us consider the verses of Corinthians 1; 1-12.  Paul speaks to us of the importance of each part of the body in relation to the other.  As Christians, no one is less important that the other and by the same equation, no one is more important than the other.

So no matter how you want to serve God, listen for His voice and He will guide you to serve Him.

How can we listen to God? By reading His word every day.  Even just a verse or two. Through prayer every day… set aside a time to talk to God either with someone else or even go into a quiet spot and spend a little time in conversation with God.  Tell Him your fears; show Him your gratitude.

Talk to fellow Christians and, probably more importantly, talk to those who don’t believe.

Make it your purpose in life to listen for the word of God.  You will hear Him in the most unexpected ways.

Prayer: Father God, Our Living God, who created Heaven and earth.  I thank you for being in my life and for allowing me to be in your life.  I thank you Father that you are always willing to listen to me and to talk to me.  Work in my heart Father and show me how I can best serve you with my head, hands, my feet, and my heart.  I love you, awesome God.  Amen.

Stay Blessed.

Be Strong in the Lord

Ephesians 6:10 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.”

Paul’s letter to the Ephesians is a letter to encourage the Christian movement amongst the people of the Ephesus.  Ephesus was the largest and most important Church of the region of Asia Minor and his hope in writing to them was to encourage the people to continue in their faith, to continue to spread the Word of God and to strengthen them in their faith.

He wanted the Church to be representative of the body of Christ, one body with many functions, all unable to function properly without the other and all equally important to each other.

This letter is valid still today.  It is important that we encourage one another in our faith by talking to one another about God and by reading the word of God every day.  This happens when we start the good works at home.  By talking to our family about God every day and by praying together.  Our family is also one body, made of many parts, each equally important to the other and necessary to the other to function properly as whole.

By acknowledging the grace of God, and by reading his word together, we stay strong in our beliefs and are able to face the world head on.  This is truly effective if we are united as a family in this purpose.  In the words of Paul to the Ephesians 6:17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

Prayer:  Almighty God, you created this perfect world.  Grant me the wisdom to accept that without the armour of your salvation, this life means nothing. Father thank you for this amazing gift. In the name of Jesus Christ our Redeemer who lives forever.  Amen.

To know God is to love God

Luke 12:33 “ Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

To know God is to love God and to know that God IS love.  God loves us so that he sent His only begotten Son to live on this earth as we do and to die for our sins.  Jesus lives in Heaven with his Father God who loves us and wants a deep intimate friendship with us. Jesus also lives in our hearts!

One day, when we die to this earth, Jesus wants us in Heaven with Him to share in this perfect love.

We can and should respond to this as we do with all our friends, by reaching out and drawing near to God and His wonderful Son, our Lord and Saviour, Christ Jesus.

Dedicate time to God each and every day.  To spend time with YOUR FRIEND our awesome God in heaven.  Do not worry about how you spend the time with Him.  Relax, get comfortable and have a chat with God.  Read His word every single day if you can and listen and you will hear His voice.

Then, and this is the most important thing.  Tell others of your wonderful friendship with God and show others that you are a friend of God! Become the heart of God!

Prayer: Dearest Father God, please help me to set aside time each and every day to know you better.  Grant me opportunities to spread The Good News!  Let me also know that My Redeemer Lives in my heart, in Heaven and is waiting for me! Amen.

Jesus will return

Dear Christ followers, of one thing we can be very sure, Jesus will come back to this earth in exactly the same way that HE left the earth...
