False Gospels

 Dear readers, we have been warned about false gospels.  And this includes prosperity gospels.

The end of the Bible is Revelation and in the last verse we are warned never to add one word or to omit one word of the Bible.

If we believe in Jesus Christ, we need to know that He is the Word.  He is also the Truth and He is the life.

To preach any other gospel, or indeed to read any other "versions" of the Bible is blasphemy and will be severely punished by GOD.

The more I read my Bible and the more I grow in my relationship with our FATHER in Heaven, the more I am convinced that the Bible is the inerrant, infallible Word of GOD.  It is not to be interpreted for our own use.  It is not to quoted to suit the occasion.  GOD will not be mocked.

As children of GOD, it is our duty to ensure that the Church we attend is of the same values as GOD.  It is our duty to ensure that what we read in the Bible is not misquoted or the context altered to suit ourselves.  It is also our duty not to accept false doctrines or false teachers.

We are living in the end of times and we need to clearly understand that it is imperative that we know what GOD wants us to do.  And we need to live in a way that is pleasing to GOD.

Today, let us examine what we are reading in the Bible and who we are listening to in our churches and what lessons are true and are from GOD and what are false lessons being perpetuated by people with hidden personal agendas.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU for YOUR grace and mercy.  FATHER protect me from false teachers and false doctrines and give me sound teachers to follow.  I humbly pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

I have been crucified with Christ!

In his letter to the Galatians, Paul writes that as a person who has accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour and Redeemer, it is no longer Paul who lives, but Christ who lives in him.

Can we say the same?

Are we dying to self and living as if we are now alive in Christ?

This is a powerful thought.

We cannot call ourselves co heirs with Jesus if we are not living our lives as if we have Jesus Christ living in us.  We simply cannot go on sinning as before and behaving as before.  We have to stop and think about our every word and our every deed. 

Would Jesus behave the way we behave on earth?

If not, then are we truly living for Christ?  Being a co heir with Jesus truly means a complete repentance of our lifestyles.  It means we stop doing things the way we did before and start to behave as if we answerable to GOD for every action.  It means that we are sorry for the way we did things and it also means that we stop doing things which are not truly reflective of a Christ filled life.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU for giving me Jesus Christ to save me from my sinful past.  FATHER help me to live my life in a way that truly reflects that Jesus has come to live in me.  I humbly pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

THY Will FATHER!

Even Jesus, when He prayed to GOD in Heaven, asked that the Will of GOD be done rather than what He wanted.

Just so we should always pray for the Will of our FATHER to be done in our lives.

What we must never lose sight of, is that GOD is a perfect, righteous, Holy, merciful, just FATHER.  And if GOD grants us the things we want as and when we want them, it may be that it these things do not fit into the perfect plan that GOD has.

Jesus knows His FATHER better than anyone, because Jesus is GOD.  And when Jesus added humanity to His deity by coming to earth as a man, Jesus knew that when He prayed, although He did not want to face this awful death, the plan that GOD had was much better than the pain Jesus would have to face.

Therefore, Jesus, when He prayed that night, asked GOD to take the cup (of pain) from Him, but then added that rather than the cup be removed, the perfect will of GOD be done.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU for YOUR grace and mercy and justice.  FATHER, please when I pray THY will be done in my life and not my will.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

The words shall not pass away!

 Perhaps as we read the Bible, we are not clear on the outcome of this story.  But GOD intends to do away with this earth and with the heavens and create a new earth and new heavens.

I think, personally that this is something which we are not aware of.  This earth has a life.  And it is not forever.  But what is forever, is GOD, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.  And whomsoever accepts Jesus as their Redeemer and accepts the gift of grace from GOD, and repents of their sins, these, too, will have life eternal with GOD in Heaven.

And the promises made to us, shall never pass away.  That Jesus makes abundantly clear in the verse above.

GOD has promised us that if we accept Jesus, confess our sins and admit that we are children of GOD, we shall indeed be with HIM forever.

The road to Heaven is narrow and few will find it. This is not because GOD does not want us all to find it, this is solely down to our own free will.  We can choose, eternity with GOD or eternity in hell. Please choose heaven today, if you have not yet done so.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU that I have chosen to accept YOUR grace.  I thank YOU that Jesus is my Redeemer.  FATHER, forgive my sins as I forgive those who sin against me.  I humbly pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Beware!

 Jesus warned His disciples against false teachers.  But He went on to warn this false teachers that they would be severely punished.

And this is a warning to us as well.  We are not to parade ourselves as children of GOD as being better than others.  We are to be humble and we should be should act in a manner that is befitting a follower of Christ.

In other words, in our day to day dealings with people, we need to act with integrity and honesty.

Also we need to look out for false teachers.  People who are more concerned with the things of this world like money and possessions that with salvation.

True followers of Christ should be good caretakers of money, but not lovers of money.  We should be humble and never haughty.  We should be kind and considerate and mindful of people who have less than ourselves.

That is true Christianity.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, show me how to be a good follower of Jesus.  Show me daily how to be more and more like Jesus.  FATHER show me how to set an example of a true child of Jesus.   I humbly ask this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

I shall send my Son!

 This parable relates directly to the fact that GOD sent HIS Son to give the Jewish people a Messiah.  They rejected the Messiah and they crucified Him.  

This opened the door for gentiles to be justified through a faith and a belief in Jesus Christ.

Israel is the chosen race of our FATHER in Heaven.  And HE wanted them to be with HIM in eternity.  They rejected the offering of a sacrificial lamb, the Lamb of GOD.  

But anyone who accepts Jesus as Lord and Saviour, Jew or gentile can be saved.

It is a choice that we all need to make.  And it is a very wise choice because this talks to our eternal state.

This life on earth is fleeting and can pass over in an instant.  One minute we can be alive and the next find ourself on the other side of death.  The other side of death, there is no further choice.

If you have not done so, accept that Jesus is Lord today.  Repent and confess that you may saved.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU that YOU chose, in YOUR mercy and grace to send Jesus to save us.  I thank YOU and I praise YOU FATHER in the Holy Name of my Redeemer, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Jesus came to save those who were lost!

Jesus asked Zacheus to come down out of the tree so that He might have supper at Zacheus's house that night.  When questioned about dining with a tax collector, Jesus answered as is quoted in the verse above.

Zacheus assured Jesus that he always dealt fairly and if he had ever collected too much tax from a person, he paid them back fourfold.

Jesus answered to the scribes and the pharisees that He did not come to save the people who did not need salvation, but He came to save those who could never enter the Kingdom of heaven through their own volition.  This is you and me dear readers.

On our own, without Jesus we would never ever be able to atone for our sins and enter in the Kingdom of Heaven.

But our Gracious FATHER sent HIS only Son to die on that cross, paying the ultimate price with His own blood for all our sins.

So we know that when we ask GOD to forgive us and we truly repent of our sins, they are removed from us as far as the east is from the west.

But the key to salvation is our faith in Jesus Christ.  And then we need to repent.  This means we simply cannot go on sinning and sinning and especially not doing the same sin over and over, because this is not repentance.  Repentance is a complete one hundred and eighty degree u-turns from our old selves and becoming new creations in Christ.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU that YOU have saved me from my sins.  I thank YOU that through YOUR grace I can enter into YOUR kingdom with the sure knowledge that Jesus paid the price for my sins.  FATHER I thank YOU for this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

The Creation is evidence of our FATHER in every aspect!

 The qualities of our CREATOR FATHER are evidenced in everything we see, both here on earth and in the Heavens.

For all that we believe in ourselves and our own abilities, we are unable to replicate the creation of a planet, an earth, a sun or stars. 

Every time I hear someone say that this is or that is millions of years old I know that this is not the case.

I believe the Bible is the literal, unerring, infallible word of GOD.  I believe that this earth and the universe was all created in 6 days.

How can I not?

Because if this universe was millions and millions of years old and you believe in evolution then you also have to believe that we could have at least replicated one planet by now.  And we certainly have not managed to do that.

As I get older I have come to realize that the FATHER we serve is capable of anything.  And I know that HE spoke this entire universe into existence.

I also know that HE is sending Jesus back soon to fetch us all to Heaven.  And all we have to do is to accept Jesus as LORD and to know that HE is the only way to get to our CREATOR FATHER.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, today I pray for the eyes of all who do not know YOU to be opened so that they may clearly see YOUR majesty and YOUR wonders and YOUR splendors.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Jesus is LORD!

 Can you imagine that Jesus knew exactly where His disciples would find a colt in a village?  Not only a colt, but one upon which no man had sat?

If we doubt the Sovereignty of Jesus, we just need to think on the miracles that Jesus did which largely went unnoticed.  Jesus told His disciples that they would find a man carrying a pail of water and that person would lead them to the place where they could prepare the Passover meal. 

Then Jesus tells them to go ahead and they will find a colt and they go ahead and it is exactly as He said it would be.

Jesus predicted His death in exactly the way it would take place.  He predicted that He would rise from the dead on the third day, and it was so.

Apart from the fact that Jesus healed the sick, the lame, the deaf, the mute, the demonically possessed, He walked on water, He calmed the seas, He ordered His disciples to cast their nets when they had fished all night and caught nothing and they cast their nets and brought in a huge haul of fish.

If we ever doubt the Power and Might of Jesus Christ, we just need to look at His life on earth.

This is why I know that Jesus can do anything.  And nothing can separate us from the love of Jesus, except our own lack of faith and our own sin. 

And to doubt Jesus is our Saviour and that Jesus can do anything, is a sin.

Today, let us put aside all our own beliefs and know Jesus and trust that He is indeed capable of anything, and all we have to do, is to know this.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I know that YOU love me and that YOU can do anything.  FATHER lead me in my life and let YOUR will and not mine be done in my life.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord!

 When Jesus came riding on a donkey in Jerusalem the crowd were shouting and throwing down clothing and palm leaves in the road.  They were rejoicing for they recognised this King. 

True Christ followers will certainly be rejoicing when our Saviour comes to fetch us all, and most of us want that day to happen sooner rather than later.  

The world seems to be growing darker and darker.  

Especially true is the lack of morality amongst leaders around the world.  They are consumed by their need for power and wealth and although they make promises to better the lives of the needy, and the downtrodden, in real terms they just want more for themselves.

Even more frightening is the greed of the wealthy.  Although they have so much, they just want more and more.

In these times, the only trustworthy thing in this world is our faith.  And we need to cling to it and treasure it.  Jesus loves us and He will come again to this earth, to take His bride home to Heaven.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU for YOUR grace and favour.  I thank YOU that I know that YOU are always the same, now and forever.  I thank YOU that I can depend on YOU in these very trying times.  I thank YOU in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Stay steadfastly Jesus Blessed today!

As a little child

 We need to have faith just like little children in order to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.  

In other words, we ought not to question our faith in GOD.  GOD wants us to know HIM intimately and to trust HIM infinitely.  We need to love the LORD our GOD with all our hearts, all our strength, all our minds and with all our souls.  But more than that, we need to know that our FATHER loves us more than anything.

Why else, would our Gracious, Merciful, Loving, Kind FATHER have sent HIS only Son to die on earth for us?

Only because GOD loved us so and because GOD loves us so.  GOD wants not one of us to die without knowing HIM and without knowing that HE loves us so.

The choice is ours.  Love our FATHER in Heaven more than anything and accept HIM as our FATHER, unquestioningly and unwaveringly.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I love YOU more than life itself.  FATHER help me to never question my faith or my love for YOU.  I humbly pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Always Pray!

When we pray to GOD we need to pray continually about everything.  Prayer is not a once off issue.  

The most important aspect of our prayers needs to be our faith in GOD.  We need to know that GOD hears our prayers.  And in order for our prayers to be heard, we need to be in a living, loving relationship with GOD.  

Sin separates us from GOD.  A lack of faith separates us from GOD.  But if we are always repentant, always faithful and always in prayer, we can be very sure that our FATHER in Heaven is listening to our prayers.

Prayers should not be repetitive, but we can ask for something until GOD answers us.  And we also need to bear in mind that we ask for things to be done according to the Will of GOD and not according to our will.

Here in this passage, Jesus told His disciples to not grow weary whilst praying.  And this does not mean going to sleep while praying, it means that we need to pray fervently about issues that we take to GOD.

Today let us heed the words of Jesus and take our petitions to our FATHER in faith, in love, in repentance for our sinful ways, and then let us wait for our FATHER to answer us.  And we need to keep listening to hear what our FATHER tells us.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I come to your tonight and I ask that YOU forgive me where I have sinned against YOU.  FATHER, I come to YOU in faith knowing that YOU always hear my prayers.  FATHER help me tonight in my prayers to be fervent, and help me to always remember that YOUR will is done on earth, and not my will.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Lord increase our faith!

 Jesus talked to His disciples about faith.  Jesus told them that if they faith as small as a mustard seed, they could move mountains.

And this is true.  Because with GOD nothing is impossible.  What we have to know is that if we faith, true faith, without a doubt faith, we can still do the same today.

The problem is that we doubt.  And doubt crowds out our faith.  Doubt nibbles away at our trust in GOD.

What we need to do is to gPo back to the very beginning.  Without GOD, we would not have the earth, the universe or anything.

Without GOD we would not be here.  

But GOD made all of this for you and for me.  GOD spoke the universe into existence.  A feat which no one can ever replicate.

So what is impossible for GOD?  Absolutely nothing.  And all we have to do is to believe this.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I put all my faith and my trust and my hope in YOU FATHER and in nothing else.  FATHER I know that with YOU anything is possible.  I humbly pray that you increase my faith daily.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.   Amen.

Are we faithful?

 We might not realize it, but GOD has given us the whole earth and everything in it.  And we are to take care of it and all that inhabits it.

This is a huge responsablity.  And I think it is one that we often miss or even worse dismiss as a task belonging to everyone else except us.

What GOD expects from us is faithfulness.  Faithfulness to HIM first.  Then faithfulness to each other and all who dwell on earth.

While we cannot be expected to care for each and every person on earth, an impossible task, we can be faithful to those whom GOD has entrusted to us either through familial ties, friendship or in other relationships with us.

One day we are going to meet up with GOD and Jesus in Heaven and we are going to give an account of our lives.

Will we be able to say that we were faithful in what was entrusted to us on earth?

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, today I humbly pray that YOU show me how to be truly faithful to YOU and to all that YOU have entrusted to me on earth.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Repentance Rejoiced in Heaven!

 When a sinner repents, the angels in Heaven rejoice!

GOD gave us HIS ultimate sacrifice.  HIS one and only begotten Son.  This so that whomever believes in Jesus Christ, may not die but may have life eternal with GOD.

The only way to Heaven is through Jesus Christ.  Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Once we accept this fact, the Holy Spirit comes to live in us.  And the first thing that the Holy Spirit does, is He cleans the house where He dwells.

The Holy Spirit convicts us to repent of our wrong doings.  

Repentance looks like something.  It is a definitive turning away from our sinful past.  But it also requires a sorrowful heart when we contemplate the things that we did that really hurt our FATHER in Heaven and the things that hurt our family and our friends.

But, consider the rejoicing in Heaven when we truly repent!

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU for my belief in Jesus Christ.  FATHER today fill me anew with YOUR Holy Spirit.  FATHER grieve me to know where I have sinned and where I have not asked for forgiveness or repented of those sins.  I humbly pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Be humble!

 Above all else, Jesus did not exalt Himself above anyone.  He remained humble.

And if we are true Christ followers, this is one the traits we need to seek to have.  It is one of the true attributes of a Christ follower.

Here Jesus told His disciples the parable of the wedding.  He used the analogy that if we take the highest seats and we have to be asked to move down, it is extremely embarrassing.  

But if we take the lowest seat and the groom comes along and asks us to move up higher, then we are honoured.

So it will be in Heaven.

Whoever humbles himself on earth will be exalted in Heaven and visa versa.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I pray that YOU grant me the wisdom to humble myself in every instance of my life.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

The gift of the Holy Spirit

 Our FATHER in Heaven has given us everything on earth in order for us live.  We have the gravity of the earth, which keeps us planted on the earth.  We have oxygen to breathe.  We have water to drink, we have food to eat.  We have the sun to give us daylight and the moon to give us light at night.

But what our FATHER really wants to give us more than anything else, is eternity with HIM.  

We can accept Jesus Christ and be saved from eternity in hell. But in order to become more and more like Jesus once we are saved, we need to be constantly filled up with the Holy Spirit.  This is because we are leaky vessels.  Our infilling of the Holy Spirit constantly needs topping up.

So in our prayers, we should remember to pray to be constantly filled with the Holy Spirit.  And as we are told in the verse above, if we will but ask, we will surely get.

Today let us ask GOD to fill us anew with HIS Mighty Holy Spirit.  So that we may know the Truth and be constantly convicted to become more and more like Jesus.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU for YOUR grace and favour and for all the wonderful gifts YOU have showered on us.  FATHER, today, I humbly pray that YOU fill me anew with YOUR Holy Spirit.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Good fruit

As children of GOD and Christ followers, we have to build our faith on good ground.  And we need to keep nurturing it.  We have do that by prayer and reading the Word.  But we also have to go out into the world and spread the Good news.  We have to know the Gospel in order to give the Gospel.

That means, slowly and with patience, reading our Bibles and asking GOD to help us to see the Word in a way that our eyes are opened to the Truth.

The Truth is Jesus Christ only.  There is no other way.

From hearing the Word and knowing the Word, we can bring forth our fruit.  This is the work that GOD has prepared for us to do on earth. 

And we are called to do this work, slowly and patiently, in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ. 

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER I thank YOU for my faith in Jesus Christ.  Help me FATHER to build my faith.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

The lost sheep

 Truly in Heaven there will be more joy over one sinner who repents than 99 who have no need to repent.

This is a sobering thought.  Jesus came to save you and me.  But if we do not repent, we cannot be saved.  Believing in Jesus without repentance if fruitless.

Even the demons believe and tremble.

That is what sets us apart.  When we believe in Jesus, we believe in the work and propitiation He performed in dying for our sins on that cross.  Then we know that we are sinners.  The Holy Spirit convicts us that we have sinned.  And as we pray and repent, more and more the Holy Spirit convicts us to ask for forgiveness for things long forgotten.

Being a Child of GOD is not a once saved always saved thing.  We need to work at building our relationship with our FATHER in Heaven, through prayer, reading HIS word and being with like-minded Christ followers.

But when we repent, truly repent, then there is rejoicing in Heaven.  Because another sinner is saved!

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I humbly pray that YOU forgive me for the sins that I have forgotten about.  Forgive me FATHER I pray.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Giving!

 As children of GOD and Christ followers, we are called on to give.  And this means to give without thinking about what we are going to get.

We have nothing to give, except that GOD provided it for us in the first place.  Therefore it follows that we can only give once we have been given.

Often in the modern day churches, what is preached is the prosperity gospel.  This is a totally blasphemes teaching.

We are not going to get rich by giving.  We are not necessarily going to get by giving.

Giving needs to come from our hearts.  We need to be convicted by Holy Spirit to give without the expectation that we are going to get something back.

Even our time.  GOD has given us all the time that we have.  Without GOD having given us HIS time, we would not have any time.

GOD created everything, the earth, the universe, the day and the night.  Therefore we also need to give back time to GOD and to help others.

Let us reflect on how much we need to give back.  But let us not do this and expect to get anything back.  That is not the object of the exercise.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU for all that I have.  I thank YOU for the time you have given me on this earth.  FATHER today, show me where I can give back and help me not to expect to receive anything in return.  I humbly pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Jesus came to save the sinners!

 Jesus came to this earth with one singular purpose.  To give you and I, dear readers a chance to repent and to be saved.

Jesus came to this earth with a perfect plan.

And His plan is the only way, the only truth and the only way to spend eternity with our FATHER in Heaven.

There simply is no other way.  And we are free to accept His redemption or to reject it.

Now I fully comprehend today that people seem to think that there is your truth and there is my truth.  This is not the TRUTH.

There is only one TRUTH and this is Jesus Christ.  We cannot work our way into Heaven.  We cannot earn our way into Heaven.  And anyone who says that you can or thinks that you can is quite simply wrong.

When we try to get to Heaven any other way, the TRUTH is that we are not going because we have then shunned the work Jesus did not only on the Cross, but in coming to earth, adding humanity to His deity, living a sinless life, being mocked and tortured and then cruelly crucified.  This also denies that Jesus conquered death to give us eternal life with GOD and denies that Jesus ascended into Heaven and sits at the right Hand of GOD our FATHER.

Today, will we accept Jesus or reject Jesus?  Will we repent and turn from our sins?  Will we accept the TRUTH,  the only TRUTH?

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I know that Jesus is the LIFE AND THE TRUTH AND THE ONLY WAY TO YOU.  I humbly repent of my sins and I take Jesus as my Lord and my Saviour.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Tempted!

After Jesus was baptized, he went into the wilderness for 40 days and 40 nights.  In the wilderness He was tempted by the devil.

This is often the case when Christ followers are baptized or choose to serve the Lord.  The devil attacks them at their most vulnerable.

We need to be cautious and vigilant.  The devil wants to lure us away from the LORD.

The only way to guard ourselves is to know GOD and to know Jesus.  So when we take up our cross and follow Jesus, we need to spend time in earnest prayer.  We need to spend time reading the Word of GOD and getting to know the nature and character of GOD.

We need to spend time with like-minded Christ followers in groups and talk about our faith.  We also need to know that when we are tempted, our FATHER is Mighty and can save if we will just call on HIM.

We need to attend a Church and worship GOD and pray together.  And when in doubt, we need to fall on our knees and ask GOD to help us. 

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU for protecting me at all times.  I know FATHER that YOU are always with me.  I know FATHER that you will never leave me nor forsake me.  Help me FATHER to always turn to you in times of trouble and temptation.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.
