The Son of Man!

Jesus died for you and me!  He yielded up His spirit and then he died.  But that is not where this story ends.  That is the beginning of our salvation.  Jesus rose from the death on the third day and He ascended into Heaven where He sits at the right hand of GOD our FATHER.  Jesus will judge us through His righteousness one day.

The enormous sacrifice that Jesus made in coming to earth as a lowly carpenter and serving us as a living sacrifice to save us from our sins should make us all eternally grateful.  So this Easter, let us say 'thank You FATHER, thank You Jesus and thank You Holy Spirit."

Thank You for your enormous sacrifice and your enormous grace and the enormous gift of salvation.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank You that You love me so much.  I too, FATHER love you and Jesus and the Holy Spirit.  I thank You for my salvation.  This Easter, I forgive all those who have sinned against me and I promise to love them as You love me.  I humbly ask FATHER that You forgive me of all my sins this Easter as I celebrate the crucifiction of Your dearly beloved Son.  I pray all this in His Holy name, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Jesus lives in you and me!

God raised Jesus up from the dead and the Spirit of Jesus lives in each one of us when we accept Jesus as our redeemer.

In order to accept Jesus we need to repent of our sins, we need to become new and we need to ask God to send the Holy Spirit to live in us. 

We also need to forgive those who sin against us.  

To have the Holy Spirit fill us,  we need to have a deep relationship with God and we can do this by reading the Bible daily, by praying to God about everything, and by sharing the "good news" with people.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, as I come to You today, I would pray that you will forgive me of my sins.  I forgive all those who  have sinned against me.  I want a deep meaningful relationship with You and I want to know that the Holy Spirit is living in me.  I pray all this in the name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Amen.

The LORD is faithful!

God is faithful!  He strengthens us.  Consider these words carefully.  Through His faithfulness He protects us from the evil one.

Let us dwell and meditate on these today as we go about our daily lives. 

We live in a world where faithfulness is enormously scarce.  So few people are faithful.  Not only are people not faithful to their relationships, they are not faithful to their bosses, their colleagues, their friends, their team mates.  This unfaithfulness allows a foothold for evil to enter our lives.  We start to lie and cheat and even steal and murder.  However if we remain faithful it is easy to follow the good path.

God is faithful!  To each and every one of us.  Let us shine the light of Jesus on this world today and show that we are faithful.  Where we have not been faithful, let us pray to God for forgiveness for each and every instance where we have sinned,  and let us also forgive those who have not been faithful to us.

Prayer: O Faithful Heavenly Father, I thank You that You are always constantly faithful to me.  I ask that You forgive me for each and every instance where I have been unfaithful and allowed the evil one to gain a foothold in my life.  Today Father I ask that You keep me faithful.  I forgive all those who have been unfaithful to me.  I pray all of this in the Holy name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

A work in progress

We are works in progress when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.  The Holy Spirit comes to live in each one of us and God works in us through this.

Every day we need to exercise our faith and grow our faith.   We need to draw really close to our loving Father in Heaven.  We need to read His word daily and pray to Him continually.  We need to talk about Him and to Him.  We need to ask God to forgive us when we sin and we need to forgive those who sin against us.  We need to become more "Christ Like!"

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You that You sent Your Holy Spirit to live in me.  I thank You for Your enormous Grace.  Today, Father, I pray that You grow Your good works in me.  Make me a better person, day by day.  I pray this in the Holy name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

God can do anything!

Just like the Hymn "How Great Thou Art!" says,

"O Lord, my God, when I in awesome wonder

Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made

I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder

Thy power throughout the universe displayed"

This Hymn is my all time favourite.  It just says it all!

Today let us be truly grateful for all that God has done for us.  Let us look around us and see the wondrous creation He has given us to live on and the beautiful people that He has surrounded us with. 

Let us tell God today that we are truly grateful and that we love Him above all else.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for this magnificent world that You created for me to live on.  I thank You for the beautiful people who surround me.  I thank You for my wonderful family and I thank You Father for Your enormous grace.  I pray and thank You in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Nothing is too hard for God!

God spoke the universe into creation.  God spoke the earth and sun and the moon and all the stars into creation.  He calls the stars out and calls them by name. (Isaiah 40:26).  

God numbers the hairs on our heads.  He loves us this much.  

Therefore in times of trouble, He is the first person we need to go to.  We need to take everything to God in prayer.  In humble submission, we need to pray and ask God to help us.

Begin now and talk to God.  Tell Him all our problems and our fears and remember that we also need to let Him know when we are happy and joyful and we need to give thanks for these times too.

Let us read His word daily and walk in His ways. 

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, I thank You that You are HUGE.  I thank You that You can name the stars and that You know me intimately.  I thank You Father that You are on my side.  I pray all this in the name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

The peace of God!

God gives us His peace.  This is a peace which transcends all understanding.  So why?

God created the universe.  He created us.  He can do ANYTHING!  When Joshua was fighting for the land of Canaan, he asked God to make the sun stand still and it did... for a whole day. (Joshua 10:13).  And when King Hezekiah asked for a sign God made the shadow of the sun go backwards. (2 Kings 20:1 - 11).  The shadow went back ten steps.

So with a God like this on our side, what in Heaven or on earth are we afraid of?  

Our God is all powerful, all mighty and He is omniscient.

Let us obey God and give up worrying, for who by worrying can add a single hour to his life. (luke 12:25-31).

Pray to God and He will give you His peace.  And God promises you that if you give it up to Him, the peace which descends upon you will transcend your understanding.  You will be at peace.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You today that You are always with me.  I thank You that I can rely on You.  I thank You that You are able to do anything and everything.  Father today, I humbly ask that You take all this worry away from my mind and let me sleep peacefully.  I ask this in the name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Hope in Jesus!

Through the love of God for us, He gave us His Son Jesus to save us from our sins.  The prophet Isaiah talks about the Saviour. (Isaiah 53:5).  So it was for many generations that in the Bible we were promised redemption from our sinful ways through the eternal love of  God.

Therefore we know that God always keeps His promises and that we always have hope.

Let us never forget that God is always on our side.  He always keeps His promises to us and He is there for us.

We are to read the teachings of God for us to realize that God keeps His promises to us!

Prayer: Heavenly Holy Father, I thank You that my hope is in You.  I thank You for Your everlasting grace and mercy.  I thank You that I can count on You Father.  I pray today that You forgive my sins as I forgive those who sin against me.

I pray all this in the name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Dwell in the Shelter of God!

God is our Most High.  When we dwell in Him, we have His shadow over us.  The way to dwell in God is simple.  We need to follow his commandments, build a relationship with Him and pray to him.  Daily.  

Today let us make a real effort to do this.  Let us pick up our Bibles and spend quiet time with God.  Talk to a friend about God.  Pray to God and ask Him to spread His mighty arms over our lives.

Prayer:  Almight God Our Father in Heaven.  Today I pray that Your will be done on earth.  I ask Father that You spread Your mighty arms over my life and protect me from the worry of this world.  I pray that Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven today. 

I pray this in the Holy name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Jesus despised and rejected for our sins

Nothing is more pure or good than God.  Yet He sent His Son and we despised Him and rejected Him.  We watched as He was nailed to a cross and we watched while He hung and died for our sins.

Greater love has no man than to die for another!

As we approach Easter, let us dwell on our part in crucifying Jesus.  Every time we disobey God, we crucify Jesus again.

Let's start today and beg God to forgive our sins.  Let us pray to God and thank Him for His enormous grace.  Let us praise Him and worship Him for His eternal love for each one of us.

Prayer: Heavenly Gracious Father, I thank You that You love me so much that You sent Your wonderful Son to die for my sins.  Thank You Father for Your sacrifice to save me from my sinful ways.  I pray today that You forgive me Father as I forgive those who sin against me.  I pray this in the Holy name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Our God is faithful

God promises us that if we love Him and keep His commandments, He is faithful to us for a thousand generations!

The fact is that God knows that we are sinners and that we fall short of His Glory.  But He has put in place a safety net.  His Son Jesus Christ.  Through Jesus Christ we can redeem ourselves.  

When we sin, (and we all know when we have sinned), we need to repent.  We need to make amends with God for our sins.  We need to beg God to forgive us and we need to do our very best not to sin again.  It is not a "get our jail free" card.  

God reads our hearts.  He sees right into our beings and He knows if we intend to do the exact same thing again.  Therefore once we have repented, we are to reform and be "born again" by the blood of Jesus spent for us.  Then we are redeemed.  

When we love God truly, we do not want to sin.   We want to please God and God knows this.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your immense grace and Your patience with me.  I pray Father that you forgive me for sinning.  I forgive those who sin against me.  I love You Abba Father.  I pray all this in the Holy name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

God is Perfect!

God is perfect.  Even Jesus when He was called good, questioned that and said that nobody was good except God in Heaven. 

God knows nothing except perfection because He is perfection.  And His way is perfect.  

We need to start trusting God with our lives and our plans for our lives.  He will never lead us astray and everything He is and everything He does will lead us to a perfect life with Him.

In order for us to get into God's perfect plan, we need to have a very close relationship with Him.  We need to trust Him implicitly and we need to pray to Him about everything and anything before we do it.  We need to take it to the Lord in prayer.

He will show us the way and it will be perfect.  Therefore if in our lives things are not going well and we have prayed about it, we need to go back to God and ask Him if what we are doing is right.  He will show us the way.

Prayer: Heavenly Father today I humbly ask that I may go with You.  I want You to show me the way Father to an eternal life with You.  Please Father, lead me and show me the way.  I pray this in the name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Jesus wants us to keep the commandments!

Jesus tells us that if we know the commandments and if we keep them, we show our love for Him and that we will be loved by His Father.  Jesus tells us that He will love us when we remember the 10 commandments.

We should bear in mind that the ten commandments are not isolated and we cannot break one without breaking them all.  We do however have salvation in the Grace of God.

So today, if we know that we have broken any of the Lord's commandments, we can pray to God for forgiveness.  God reads our hearts and if we are truly repentant, we are forgiven.  Remember that we also have to forgive those who have sinned against us.  

We should love the Lord our God with all our hearts and with all our souls and with all our minds.  Then all the other commandments suddenly become a lot easier to keep.

Let us make a concerted effort today to ask God to forgive us.  Then let us let go of all hurts and wrongs we perceive have been done to us.  Let us this weekend dwell on forgiving others and then let our love for God shine through.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray earnestly that You forgive me for breaking any or all of Your commandments.  Forgive me Father.  I forgive all those who have sinned against me.  

Father I love You with all my heart and with all my soul and with all my mind.  

Father I thank You for the grace that give me through the life and death and resurrection of Your Son Jesus Christ.  I thank You for the chance to repent and the chance to forgive others.  

I promise today Father, to try and not break any of  Your commandments.  I pray all of this in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.

God does not grow weary!

God does not grow weary!  God is everlasting.  We cannot begin to understand or comprehend the magnitude of our God in Heaven.

And what an awe inspiring thought.  To have a God like this who wants to be in a relationship with us.  He wants to talk to us daily.  He wants to be in our lives.  

All we have to do is invite Him in.

We need to respond to this magnanimous God by reading His word and by bringing Him into everything we think, do or say.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father I thank You that You are mighty and wonderful and gracious.  I thank You that I can have You in my life everyday and that I can talk to You about anything and everything.  Help me Father to bring all my thoughts, my prayers and my actions to you First O Father.  I pray this in the Holy name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Gentleness!

God sent His Son Jesus Christ, to save us and to give us eternal life.  In the old Testament, the Isreallites sent a goat out into the desert with the sins of the people on it to atone for their sins.  This was known as the "scapegoat".  (Leviticus 16:21 and 22).  The lamb is also one of  the symbols of atonement.  

  Jesus is the "Lamb of God". (John 1:29).   A Human living sacrifice sent to take all our sins upon Himself.  Jesus is often referred to as gentle, meek and mild. (2 Corinthians 10:1)

In Galatians we read that one of the fruits of the Spirit is gentleness. We do not need to subservient in order to attain these qualities.  Rather it is by strength of character that we become gentle, meek and mild.  When we live in Christ and He lives in us, His characteristics become manifest in us.  Therefore let us strive today to be more like Jesus.

Let us be humble, caring, loving and giving.  Forgiving others when they sin against us as we know that through our belief in Jesus Christ, God will forgive us of our sins.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, I humbly come before You today and I ask that You let the light of this world, Jesus Christ, shine in me today.  I pray Father that I may be more like Jesus.  Humble, gentle, compassionate, loving and forgiving. Forgive my sins today, Father.  I pray this in the Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

The True Light of the World!

Jesus is the Truth.   Jesus is the Way and Jesus is not only the Light of the world, He is the life.  

In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth.  Then God said "Let there be Light" and there was Light.  So we know that Jesus was with God from the very beginning.  And Jesus shines His light on this world.  He shines His light through us.  We need to know this and accept that we are the face of Jesus on earth.  We need to show everyone that we come into contact with that Jesus is love.

Let us today draw close to our Father God in Heaven and ask Him to help us reflect this love that Jesus is, here on earth. 

Prayer:  Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent Father God, today I pray that I may reflect the Light of Jesus on this world today.  I pray Father that you give me patience, kindness, humility and honesty in all my interactions with any people that I may meet.  I humbly ask this in the Name of  my Lord and Saviour, the Light of the world, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Sing to God!

Sing to God with hymns and songs from the Spirit.  Listen to the call of the kingfisher and let us sing with equal enthusiasm to God.  God wants to hear us sing to Him and he wants to hear us praise His name here on earth.

We need to glorify God in all things and the best way to do this is with songs and hymns.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, I thank You that I am able to praise You.  I thank You for Your grace and Your love.  I thank You for my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Gracious God!

Gracious God, who gave us this earth to live on and rule over.  Gracious God who gives us His unending love.  Gracious God who sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for us in order to have eternal life in Him.  

And we can have all of this!  If we take the offer from God.  Believe in Jesus Christ.  Believe that He is the Messiah.  Believe that He came to this world with one purpose.  To save us from our sinful ways.  

What an awesome Gracious God we serve!

Today let us make an effort to get into a really deep relationship wtih this Marvellous God that created everything.  Let us read His Word and pray to Him. 

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, today I am grateful to be alive here on earth.  I am grateful for the life that You gave me to live.  I am thankful that I can talk to You and read Your word.  Father, today forgive my sins as I forgive those who sin against me.  I pray this in the Holy name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

No condemnation in Christ

When we accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour we are IN Christ and Christ is in us.    He comes to live with us and in us through the Holy Spirit.  

We are therefore no longer condemned to die but we are redeemed through our belief to have life everlasting with God our Heavenly Father.

What an awesome, wonderful God we serve.  He redeems us through the blood of His Wonderful Son shed on the cross.

As we come to Easter, let us concentrate on this thought and remember that Jesus as He was approaching the Passover He must have been in a dreadful state of mind, knowing what He had to suffer in order to for us not to suffer a dreadful fate after death.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for the enormous grace that You give us through the blood shed by Your Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Show me how to live my life to be a true reflection of Your Son Jesus on this earth.  I pray this in the Name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  Amen.

God has compassion on us!

God promises us that even though the mountains and the hills are removed, His unfailing love for each one of us, will not be shaken nor will His covenant of peace be removed.

God promises us that He will have compassion on us.  To receive this compassion we need to be in a relationship with God.  We need to hear His voice.  We need to read His word.  We need to talk to Him every day about everything. 

Draw near to God today.  Start by just talking out loud to Him when we are alone.  Soon we will hear His voice and see His messages to us in everything.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You today that Your unfailing love is ever present for me.  I thank You that You will have compassion on me.  I pray today Father that You forgive my sins as I forgive those who sin against me.   I pray this in the Holy name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Oh to live in the House of God!

Although our lives on earth seem to span a long time, it is such a short fleeting moment when compared to eternity.  It is with this in mind that we need to shift our focus to our eternal life with God.  We need to long to live in the House of our Lord forever.  As David writes in the Psalms, "to seek Him in His temple."

Today, let us begin to earnestly seek a life eternal with our Creator, our Loving Father God.

Lets us pray to Him and talk to Him. Let us read His word and meditate on it day and night.  Let us walk in His ways here on earth so that when we shuffle off this mortal coil, we have a life eternal in His Temple and we too can gaze on His beauty.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, show me today how to live my life here on earth in such a way that I can spend eternity with You.  I humbly ask Father that You teach me Your perfect ways.  Help me not to succumb to worldly ways but to remain humble, gentle, kind, loving and forgiving.  I pray this in the name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

God First!

God tells us that He IS the Alpha and the Omega.  The beginning and the end.  He created everything.  Not just our world.  He is the creator of our Universe. "Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? (Isaiah 40:12)." 

This is not a small God.  As Louie Giglio preaches in Indescribable, we need to "RIGHT SIZE" this amazing God of ours.  

When we worship God, we are not worshipping a small God.  No, we are worshipping a HUGE God, a God for whom NOTHING is impossible. 

Prayer:  Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent God, I thank You that I can worship You.  I thank You that You can do anything and everything.  I thank You that You are with me and that I can pray to You and ask You to help me Father.  I worship You Father, and I bow down to You.  I humbly ask Father that You stand with me today.  

I pray this in the name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Call on the name of the Lord!

God calls on us to call on His Name.  We need to do this daily, not just when we want His help.  Every single day we need to give God all the glory.  It belongs to Him.  He is our Alpha and our Omega, our going out and our coming in.

Today let us draw near to this magnificent God whom we serve.  Read His word and pray to Him.  Call on His Holy Name and be saved. 

Prayer: Heavenly Father I thank You that I can call on Your name and be saved.  I thank You God for being my Father in Heaven and I thank You that you sent Your wonderful Son to die for my sins and to rise again so that I might have eternal life with You.  I pray this in the name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

God with us!

God is with us.  Whether we are aware of it or not.  God is always with us.  We need to draw near to Him in order for us to feel His presence.  We need to have a relationship with Him.  We need to trust Him with everything and we need to let go of our own desires and headstrong attitudes and place it all in His mighty hands.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, I thank You that You are always with me,  I thank You that I can lean on You and depend on You for everything.  You are my all in all.  I thank You for this in the powerful name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

God is Love!

God is love!  John 3 verse 16 tells us that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that all who believe in Him should not die but have eternal life.  

Everytime we believe that things are not going the way we want them to go, we need to stop and consider how great our God is.  How much He loves each one of us.  And how He gave us the blood of His only Son to wash away our sins and to give us life eternal with Him.

Let us not tell God how great our troubles are, let us tell our troubles how great our God is!

What a truly marvellous, gracious God we serve!

Prayer: Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent God.  How gracious is Your love for me.  I thank You Father that I can worship you today.  I thank You Father that You are listening to this prayer.  I humbly ask Father, that I can feel and know that You are staying with me throughout today.  I ask this in the name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
