In this verse, John tells us that if we do not know how to love, then we do not know GOD because GOD is love! This is such a powerful statement. And it is proved beyond a reasonable doubt.
Can any of us even begin to imagine the pain of seeing our own child hanging on a cross waiting to die. It must have been absolutely unbearable. And this to save us from our sins!
Whenever we doubt that GOD loves us unconditionally, we need to go back to the story of Jesus dying on the Cross for us.
Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU for the love that YOU have given to me. I thank YOU for YOUR grace and salvation. I pray all of this in the glorious name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.
