Eagerly await the coming of Jesus!

We are not citizens of this earth forever.  This is our temporary abode.  We are put on earth to show the glory of GOD and to do works that HE has prepared for us in advance.  When we understand this, we also realize that we need to prepare to spend eternity in Heaven with our LORD and HIS Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

As children of GOD, we need to eagerly await the time when Jesus will come down to earth and fetch us home.  Whether that is as living children or as children who have died on earth but are going home.

Therefore today, let us eagerly await this.  Let us prepare for the life of eternity with GOD as we would for our annual holiday.  Let us get our affairs in order and pack our bags.  Let us get rid of the old stuff that we need to throw away before we leave.  Let us make our plans big for Heaven.  Let us not put it off but start right away.

First things first!  A really good relationship with GOD is a must.  A knowledge of HIS word will not go amiss.  Continual prayer is an essential.  A loving attitude will help.

Metaphorically speaking, we need to pay our dues on earth;  we need to settle our scores with others.  We need to be on good terms with those around us. We need to clean up after ourselves before we leave and do the chores that GOD has set for us here.

Then we need to make our goals for Heaven.  How we are going to get there and it is not through anything we can do here on earth?  The only way to get there is to accept the Grace of GOD -  to accept HIS Son as our Saviour and to repent of our sins. 

We need to love GOD with all our hearts, with all our minds, with all our strength and with all our souls.  We need to love our neighbours as ourselves.  In this love we need to do everything on earth to help one another.  

This is going to be a fantastic eternity if we do these things!

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER GOD, I want to spend eternity with YOU.  I love YOU FATHER with all my heart and with all my soul and with all my strength and with all my mind.  

FATHER, YOU are my Alpha and my Omega, my going out and my coming in!

LORD, forgive my sins as I forgive those who sin against me.  

Show me FATHER where I can love and give of myself.  Convict my spirit to do only good.  I accept Jesus Christ as my only Lord and Saviour and the only way that I can get to spend eternity with YOU.

I pray all of this in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.
