Through Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for us on the cross, we are saved. We need to accept this truth in order to have eternal life with GOD in Heaven when we die on this earth.
However, Jesus tells us in Matthew that if we do not forgive those who sin against us, we will not be forgiven.
Therefore there is a contract with GOD. GOD promises to move our sins as far as East is from West if we repent and ask HIM for forgiveness. However, in order to receive that forgiveness, GOD will read our hearts. If we are not truly repentant, we are not forgiven. And the other rider on this equation is that we need to let go of sins perceived against ourselves.
This is a really difficult thing to do and it is required to complete the contract with GOD. GOD gives us HIS grace freely.
However in order to accept that grace the forgiveness needs to asked for from GOD and we need to forgive.
Let us today, go down on our knees and beg GOD to forgive us of our sins. Then let us sit down and think about all those who have sinned against us and then let us let go of them. To remember them no more from this day forward. We are going to be a lot lighter in spirit if we can do this and really mean it.
Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I accept YOUR enormous grace of eternal life. I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. I know that He died to save me from my sins. Today FATHER forgive all my sins AS I forgive all those who have sinned against me. I promise to remember their sins no more.
I pray this in the Holy Name of my Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Amen.
