To everything there is a season!

GOD has given us the earth, which rotates on its own axis and then the whole rotating earth rotates around the sun which gives us our seasons.  

Summer is coming to an end in the Southern Hemisphere and shortly, in but 21 days or so we will have the autumn equinox where our days and nights will be of equal length. All of this is in accordance with the Creation that GOD gave us.  HIS perfect plan.   

So too our lives are moving with the seasons and we need to do GOD's work.  We need to spread HIS word.  We need to fulfill our purposes here on earth and to tell people that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life.  No one will get to the FATHER except through Him.

Today draw close to GOD and talk to HIM.  Ask HIM to show us our purpose and to guide us on the path.  Shortly the seasons will change and we need to be mindful that Jesus can come back to earth at any time.  Therefore we need to march in time to the seasons and do the works of GOD on earth.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU for my life.  I thank YOU for the seasons.  I thank YOU for my purpose here on earth and I humbly ask that YOU guide my feet to follow YOUR perfect plan.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of the heart be acceptable!

We Christians are so fortunate to have a CREATOR GOD who loves us.  HE fills us with the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit speaks the truth and tells us what is right and what is wrong.

We are blessed to be able to discern the Truth from Satan's lies.  We know when we are sinning and we know when we are pleasing GOD.

So let us today accept the Holy Spirit.  Let us ask GOD to swell the Holy Spirit in us to overflowing and let us know right from wrong and choose the narrow path rather than the wide path which leads to death.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU for the Holy Spirit that lives in me.  FATHER fill me to overflowing and let me always know when I am in the presence of good or evil.   FATHER I am so privileged to be a child of YOUR.  I love YOU FATHER GOD.  I love You Jesus.

I pray all this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Second coming of Jesus!

How can we be sure of the second coming of Jesus.  Well Peter, who was an eyewitness to the life, death and resurrection of Jesus as well as the transfiguration of Jesus on the Mount, when Peter, James and John went up on the mount with Jesus and saw Jesus, Moses and Elijah.

Now apart from dozens of prophetic verses in the Bible, from the Old Testament to the New Testament, we read about the second coming of Jesus. 

Be very sure, as Peter tells us above, we will see the second coming of Jesus on earth.  Every single person will see it.

Let us prepare ourselves that this could happen today, tomorrow or not in our life time, but it will definitely happen.  Let us know GOD and let us accept Jesus as our Saviour.  Let us beg for the forgiveness of our sins and let us forgive one another.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU for the faith that I have in YOU and that I love Jesus and know that He is my Lord and Saviour.  I thank YOU that He gave up His life to save me from my sins.  Humbly FATHER, I beg YOU to forgive my sins as I forgive all those who sin against me.  I pray this in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Our GOD can do immeasurably more than we can even think!

To GOD be the glory!  GOD gives us the power through the Holy Spirit.  GOD gives us the energy and love through HIS abounding love for us.

Let us drop down on our knees and praise our FATHER in Heaven.  For HE is good and HIS love endures forever.

Today let us look around us and thank GOD for this day.  The day that the LORD has made.  Let us thank HIM for HIS grace, HIS goodness and HIS mercy.  Let us thank GOD that HE loves us and HE forgives us.  No matter what we have done.  All we need to do is accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and our Saviour.  We need to repent and then we need to turn to GOD and thank HIM for HIS immense love of us.

Glory to GOD!

GOD gives peace to those on whom HIS favour rests.  Therefore if we want GOD's favour, we need to glorify HIM through our lives.

A grateful heart is a beautiful thing.  So often we encounter ungratefulness.  It is a truly ugly thing.  When people have so much to be thankful for and they do not show humility or gratitude.

As children of GOD, we need to shine the light of Jesus on the world.  We can do this through saying thank you to everyone for even the smallest service offered to us.  We can do this through prayer to GOD for food and clothing and family and friends.

We need to find favour with GOD and then HIS peace can rest on us!

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU for everything that I have.  I thank YOU for everything that I am.  I thank YOU for my life, my family and my friends.  I thank YOU for my food and clothes.  I thank YOU for the home that I live in and the life that I live.

FATHER, grant me YOUR peace.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Jesus wept!

I do not often write about personal experience in the blog. However today is the day of the funeral of my late sister-in-law.  

She had cancer and passed away on Monday.  I am sure that Jesus wept for her family. They are grieving and I grieve with them.  However, I do know that she is now safe in the arms of Jesus as she was a true believer.

That is the comfort of being a Christian.  Death has no fear and no sting.  I am heartbroken that she has left this world and that she is no longer around to be able to talk to her sister, her brother or her nieces and their families.  But she will live in their hearts forever.

Jeanette Sethren, you were a truly remarkable person and you were well loved on this earth.  We shall all miss you but we know where you are and that gives us comfort.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, we thank YOU for the life of Jeanette and we thank YOU that she is now with YOU.  We thank YOU that her suffering has ended and she is now free of pain.  We thank YOU that we shared her life and that we had the privilege of knowing her.  We pray that YOU look after her until we meet again.

We pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, our Saviour.  Amen.

Thank GOD!

Let us thank GOD for all that we have and all that we are.  Without GOD we have nothing and we are nothing.  

In thankfulness we come to GOD.  Our CREATOR.  GOD made us and HE loves us and HE wants the very best for each one of us.  So let us not waste a minute today.  Let us fall down on our knees and thank HIM for all that we are and all that we have.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU for all that I am and all that I have.  I thank YOU for my family, my friends, my home and my life.  I thank YOU that YOU love me and that through YOU I can love others.

I thank YOU for everything that YOU have given me.  I pray all of this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Prayer!

In Paul's letter to the Thessalonians, he tells us to give thanks and pray continually.

It is often very difficult to see all our blessings.  And especially if we are in the habit of not praying often, we turn to GOD to solve our problems and this is where we focus our prayer.

However, what we should be doing is praying to GOD about everything.  When we see something good, we need to pray.  When we see something bad we need to pray and when we want to talk to someone, that someone should always be GOD first. 

So let us get into the habit of praying to GOD about everything.  When we wake up let us thank GOD that we are awake and thank HIM for the new day and all its opportunities.  When we have our meals let us thank GOD.  When we go to work let us thank GOD for safe travels.  When we go to sleep at night let us thank GOD for the day.

Let us praise GOD.  When we look at nature or a new baby or an old person, let us thank GOD.  When we see something beautiful let us thank GOD.

Then let us pray for each other, for our family, for our friends, for the leaders of the Church and the leaders of the Country.

Let us also make time to read GOD's word daily and let us pray when we have read the word.

In everything let us thank GOD.  

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU that I am able to talk to YOU daily.  I thank YOU FATHER for YOUR creation, the earth and the universe.  I thank YOU for stars and for the sun.  I thank YOU FATHER for the food i have to eat and the house that I have to live in.  I thank YOU for my family and my friends.  Heal those friends who are ill and who need help.  

FATHER, forgive my sins as I forgive all those who sin against me.  I pray all of this in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Spirit, Soul and Body in Christ!

GOD sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins.  GOD wants a relationship with each one of us.  But GOD is not just interested in our minds or our souls or our spirits.  GOD created each one of us in HIS own image.  

That means that we are of GOD, from GOD and a creation in HIS image!

Therefore today let us go out and work not only on our spirit, but also on our minds.  

Let us start exercising our bodies so that we can reflect the creation of light of Jesus on earth.  Let us take little walks and while we walk let us reflect on GOD and Jesus and how we can be more like them.

Let us start today and exercise our minds thinking more about doing the work of GOD on earth and how we can spread the word through our thinking and speaking.

Lastly let us exercise our spirit by praying fervently to GOD about everything in our lives.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU that YOU created me in YOUR image.  May I truly reflect YOUR image on earth.   I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour.  Amen.

The Holy Spirit.

GOD sends the Holy Spirit to live in each one of us when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.  

The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sins and shows us right from wrong.  The Holy Spirit teaches us to be kind, gentle, patient, loving and giving.  It also gives us compassion for one another and a readiness to forgive.

Let us today pray that we are filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit and let us draw closer to our FATHER in Heaven, Jesus Christ and our fellow people here on earth.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I pray that I am filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit.  Give me all the fruits of the Holy Spirit and show me how to shine the light of Jesus on earth today.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour.  Amen.

Death and life everlasting - dedicated to Jeanette Sethren 12th December 1946 to 17th February 2019

Tonight we celebrate the life of Jeanette Sethren.  A true lady and remarkable woman.  Loved by her sister and her nieces and their families. 

Jeanette we know that you loved Jesus and that you are with Him in heaven.  May your dear soul rest in peace and may you be happy in the arms of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, YOU sent YOUR Son Jesus to die for us all and He went ahead of us to prepare a place for us.  Tonight we pray that YOU receive Jeanette and give her YOUR peace and YOUR love.  We pray this in the Holy Name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Jesus the bread of Life!

Jesus is our bread of life.  Whomever believes in Him shall never thirst!

What a powerful message.  Let him or her who has ears listen to this.  So what exactly is Jesus saying.

Well firstly, if we believe in Jesus we have accepted Him as our Lord and Saviour.  We have accepted Him as the Son of our CREATOR GOD.  We have accepted that GOD will forgive our sins if we but confess them.

It also means that we need to love one another as Jesus loved us.  We should all be prepared to lay down our lives for each other.

We should all be convicted by the Holy Spirit.  Which means that we know when we sin and we acknowledge our sins to GOD.  We should also forgive those who sin against us.

Today, draw close to GOD.  Accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour and beg GOD to forgive our sins.  Forgive those who sin against us.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I love YOU.  I accept Jesus is the bread of life.  He is truly the light of this world.  I love YOU FATHER.  Forgive my sins as I forgive those who sin against me.  I pray this in Jesus Holy Name.  Amen.

Christ the living word!

John the beloved Disciple starts off the narrative of his book by saying "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

This is in direct reference to Jesus Christ.  Meaning that Christ was not created when He was born on earth.  He was with GOD right in the beginning of creation.

Therefore, Jesus chose to come to earth and live amongst us.  He chose to experience the world as we see it and as we live it with all the same challenges that we have to face.  He had an earthly mother and an earthly father who made demands upon Him.  He had brothers and sisters.  He was the oldest so we can suppose that they looked up to Him as a role model.

Then He had His friends and His disciples.  And finally, and most cruelly He knew that He would not live to have an old age on earth.  He was going to die for us.  And this could only be done out of His and the FATHER's great love of us.

When we pray to GOD in Jesus name, we need to remember that Christ knows our lives and He knows our challenges.  He faced the same and worse than we can ever know.

Yet He still chose this in order to save each one of us.  Let us today accept this and when we pray let us remember we are praying to a FATHER and our Saviour who know what we are going through.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER I love YOU and I thank YOU for YOUR grace.  I thank YOU for sending Jesus to die for me.  I thank YOU for listening to my prayers and I thank YOU for answering me even when I do not think that YOU are.  I thank YOU for Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Jesus the way to GOD!

GOD has given each one of us as HIS creation, the way to spend an eternal life with HIM.  We do not have to die eternally.  What we need to do is believe that GOD sent HIS Son Jesus Christ to live on earth.  He died for us and rose again and He has gone to Heaven to prepare a place for us.

Therefore today let each one of us choose life.  Let us accept Jesus as our Saviour.  Let us beg GOD to forgive our sins and let us forgive those who have sinned against us.  Then let us look forward to an eternal life with Jesus in Heaven.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU that I can spend eternity with YOU.  I thank YOU for YOUR grace and mercy, but most of all I thank YOU for Jesus my Saviour.  I pray that YOU forgive my sins as I forgive those who sin against me.  I pray this in Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Praise GOD

How on earth is it possible to be afraid when we have Almighty GOD at our side?  Well, simply put, it is not possible to feel afraid of anything when we know GOD and when we trust GOD to protect us.  GOD tells us that HE will strengthen us and HE will help us.

So what do we need to do from our side to get this help?  Well we need to know GOD and we need to trust GOD and we need to be right with GOD and we need to accept HIS grace.

Today take up the challenge of knowing GOD.  Let us read our Bibles daily.  Let us pray about everything.  Let us ask GOD to forgive us our sins.  Let us forgive all those who sin against us.  And lastly let us accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.  I ask that YOU forgive my sins as I forgive those who sin against me.  

I humbly ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

With GOD everything is possible!

With GOD nothing is impossible.  Everything we see and everything we cannot see was created by GOD.  So when we are faced with life's little challenges and problems, we need to remember to take it to GOD.  And let GOD do HIS will.

GOD has a plan.  It is a marvellous, complete plan.  We are lucky enough to star in HIS movie and it is unfolding right now.

Today let us move into GOD's picture and take on the cloak of righteousness and start to believe that our GOD can do anything.  Even walk on water and turn water into wine.  There is nothing too big or too small for our GOD.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER GOD, I thank YOU for YOUR wonderful world.  I thank YOU that YOU created me.  FATHER today I put my small problems into YOUR hands and ask that YOU help me.  Show me the way, FATHER.  

I ask this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour.  Amen.

Peace!

GOD gives us HIS peace.  Jesus told us not to worry for tomorrow will take care of itself.

So today, let us cast our troubles on GOD.  Let us put GOD in the driving seat of our lives.  Let GOD take control.  After all, GOD created the whole world and HE knows the ending.  We are the people HE created. 

Through this, remember that GOD loves us and wants the very best for each one of us.  However, if we surrender to HIS perfect plan and stop trying to direct our own lives, we can have perfect peace.  Reach out for this today!

The word became flesh!

In the beginning, GOD spoke the entire universe into existence.  GOD said "let there be light" and there was light.  

In the book of John, John says "in the beginning was the word".  And now in verse 14 he tells us that the "word became flesh and dwelt among us".  Not only did Jesus live amongst us, He made His home here on earth and John tells us that he has seen the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the FATHER, full of grace and truth.

As children of GOD, this is so comforting.  GOD actually sent HIS Son to live on earth in exactly the same way that we live.  With the same trials and tribulations.  However, there is one difference.  Jesus came full of grace and truth and He came to save us from our sins.  Not only to save us from our sins, but to die so that we can have eternal life with Him and His FATHER  in Heaven.

Accept this grace and truth and let us make our eternal home in heaven.  Let us furnish it with love and forgiveness. Let us drape it in kindness and compassion.  Let us paint the walls with positivity and let us hang the gospels on the walls. 

Let us carpet it with goodness and kindness and then let us invite all whom we meet to join us. 

Prayer:  Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU that I can make my eternal life with YOU.  I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.  Forgive my sins as I forgive all those who sin against me.  FATHER show me how to serve YOU well.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Nothing can separate us from the love of Jesus!

GOD sent HIS Son to die for our sins.  Jesus, although completely innocent, died for you and me so that we can have eternal life in Heaven.

Just as Paul wrote in Romans, we should all believe that nothing can separate us from the love of Jesus, should we choose to accept it.

Neither angels nor demons, nor height nor depth can take that love away from us.  

So what do we need to do to accept this almighty love?  We need to repent of our sins.  We need to forgive each other and then claim Jesus as our Lord and Saviour.

Prayer:  Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU for YOUR grace and love.  I accept the love and sacrifice made for me by Jesus Christ.  I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Jesus calms the storm!

When we have Jesus in our life, we do not have to worry about the storms.  We have someone who was there right in the beginning and spoke the sea and indeed, the universe into existence. 

Our Saviour, Jesus, walks on water.  He calms the sea and He can tell the fig tree to wither and die and it will obey Him.

There is nothing in this world that our Saviour cannot control.  What He will not do is control us.  He wants us to come to Him and put Him in control and the only way that we can do that is to let go of control ourselves.

Today, let us put the steering wheel back in Jesus' hands and let us submit to His power over the universe.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU that I have Jesus in my life.  I want to give Jesus and YOU control over my whole life and I submit my life to YOU.  I pray this in Jesus Name.  Amen.

GOD is listening to us!

The perfect prayer is always according to GOD's will and not our own.  When we pray, we need to always say to GOD, "according to YOUR will, FATHER!"

If our will was done on earth, this earth would be in an even bigger mess than it is already.  How often have we thought we needed something from GOD or asked for something, only later to discover that it was just as well that we really did not get that?

Take for instance young people praying that the first love would love them forever.  And then when we are older and wiser, we meet that first love and think how extremely lucky we were that that person did not love us.

So let us always pray for things to be according to GOD's plan and in line with HIS will for our lives.  

Prayer: ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU that YOU are always listening but I thank YOU that YOU do not grant me what will hurt me and what is not good for my purpose on earth.  I pray FATHER, that my prayers are always according to YOUR will.  I pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ.  My Lord and Saviour.  Amen.

GOD's purpose for our lives

Not only were we all created by GOD. we were created for GOD.  This then is our purpose, to do HIS works on earth.  There is no other reason for us to be born.

Most of us on earth search for the reason that we were put on earth.  As children of GOD, the Bible is a very clear road map, not only on where we come from, but where we are going.  

Students of history always say that they love history as it shows us the mistakes we made and the glorious things we achieved.  Exactly the same is true of the Bible.  It shows us our ancestry and our lineage.  It shows the achievements of people who came before us and it shows us the sins and mistakes that we should avoid.  It also gives us a simple set of rules to live by.  It tells of great examples of good lives that we can follow and emulate.  It also tells us of the people whom we should avoid following.  It tells us about the great love of GOD for us all.

If we today are seeking our purpose in life, we need only refer to the Bible to find it. 

Prayer: ABBA FATHER, thank YOU that I can read YOUR word freely and see where I came from.  Thank YOU for showing me the end too.  I pray that I may be used by YOU for YOUR glory today.  I pray this in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

GOD is with us!

Just contemplate this .... GOD never leaves us.  We may leave HIM but HE never leaves us.

GOD wants to hear from us.  HE wants a relationship with each one of us, no matter who we are or what we have done.  

Let us therefore be strong and courageous in our lives.  Let us not be afraid.  Let us not be dismayed.  GOD is with us and when GOD is with us, we can accomplish anything!

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU that YOU are always with me.  I thank YOU that I never have to be afraid because I can take YOUR hand and lean on YOU.  FATHER I thank YOU for YOUR grace and mercy in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour.  Amen.

GOD is our hope!

When we hope in GOD, we give GOD the room in our lives to fill us with joy and peace.  When we trust in GOD, then our hope overflows by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Today let us hope that GOD will guide our paths towards the infilling of the Holy Spirit.  Let us ask GOD to be with us in everything we think, say and do.  But most of all let us shine the light of Jesus on the earth today.

Prayer:  Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU for YOUR hope.  I thank YOU for the opportunity to serve YOU and to shine YOUR light on earth.  But most of all, FATHER, I thank YOU for YOUR grace in the forgiveness of my sins.

GOD gives and we receive!

GOD created everything.  GOD gives us everything.  HE gives us our bodies, our minds, our souls.  HE breathes life into us.  So in order to have anything to be able to give, we have first received this from GOD.

Therefore before we can forgive anyone, we have to know forgiveness.  We have to understand what that means and we get that from GOD.  

Today let us go down on our bended knees and ask GOD to forgive us and then, we we have received our forgiveness, let us forgive those who have sinned against us.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU that YOU created everything and created everything so perfectly.  I give YOU all the glory and all the honour.  Today FATHER, I humbly ask that YOU forgive my sins.  I forgive all those who have sinned against me.  

I pray this in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Stay generously, graciously GOD blessed today!

Forgiveness!

We need to confess our sins.  Then we are promised that GOD, who is faithful, will forgive us and purify us from all the unrighteousness.

This is such a glorious gift that we have.  All we need to do is to confess our sins.  But it means more.  When we confess our sins, our sins have convicted our conscience and they have become burdens to us and to our way of life.

However, once we confess them, we have acknowledged them and we know that we have sinned.  This caused a cleansing of our souls.  It does not mean that we can simply say "LORD forgive my sins and not mean it and not be sorry".  For GOD, who created us can read our hearts and if there is no remorse for the things we have done, GOD knows and we will certainly  not be forgiven.

The rider to this is that when we are forgiven, we are more likely to forgive those who have sinned against us because through the forgiveness we have received, we begin to understand the anxiety and burdens of those who sin against us.  

Today let us beg our FATHER to forgive us and then let us forgive those who sin against us.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER GOD, I thank YOU for YOUR mercy and YOUR grace. Forgive my sins as I forgive all those who sin against me.  I am so sorry that I keep sinning FATHER and please help me to live a life which is in line with YOUR perfect plan.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour, Amen.

Forgiveness!

As children of GOD we are called on to be kind and compassionate to one another and to forgive each other as Christ forgave those who crucified Him.

Today let us contemplate all those whom we have perceived to have wronged us and let us consciously forgive them as we ask GOD to forgive our sins.  Let us clear the slate and love each other and be kind and compassionate to all the people we come across.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU that I can forgive those who have sinned against me as YOU forgive me.  FATHER I pray today that YOU forgive my sins.  Show me how to be more kind and more compassionate to those whom I meet.  I pray this in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.
