Jesus is Light

Jesus tells us that He is the light of the world.. Whoever follows Him will never walk in darkness.  

We too as Christians, are called to be "The light of the world" by Jesus.  We are to be a reflection of His light.  Therefore let us show the world today that we are Christians.  We can do this by being humble, gentle, kind, generous and helpful and by not being judgemental. 

If we take all of this to God in prayer and if we read His word, He will make us His light on earth. 

Prayer:  Father in Heaven, I ask you today that You make me shine Your light in this world.  That all may know that I am a Christian and that I walk in Your light and that I may reflect that light on this world.  Make me humble, gentle, kind and generous.  Let me not judge others.  Forgive my sins as I forgive those who sin against me.  I ask this in Jesus' name.  Amen.

The Light Shines!

We need to be the Light of the world.  As Christians, it is our duty to set an example and show the world how good God is.  As John says, "The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it."  

Prayer: Father God, help me today to be the light of the world.  Help me to live a life that reflects Your light so that no darkness may overcome it.  I pray this in the name of my Saviour Christ Jesus.  Amen.

God is Light

God is the Light.  When we walk in the light, we walk with God.  When we walk in the darkness we walk alone with the darkness.

To have a relationship with our loving Father, we need to put aside everything that is dark.  We need to cast off our old selves and put on our new selves.  This is often very hard to do. 

However, our Father is a loving and most importantly forgiving God who wants us to be with Him.  Therefore when we find that we have stumbled and reverted to our dark ways, we need to get on our knees and repent and ask God to forgive us and we can return to the safety of His eternal life  and return to His light.

Prayer:  Heavenly Holy Father, I pray today that You will forgive my sins.  I promise to forgive all those who sin against me.  I pray Father that I can return to Your LIght and live a life with You.  I ask this in Jesus' name.  Amen.

Do not let anyone look down on your youth!

Refresh your mind and lift depression.

In the above verses, God gives us a clear road map to relieving the causes of depression. God says that if we truly repent of our sins we will have a “refreshing” which comes from being at one in Jesus.

In order for us to be restored to a state of not being depressed, we need to be in contact with someone (God and our fellow Christians); we need to eat (feed our spirit); we need to rest (in the peace of God’s awesome love for us); we need to exercise (read our Bibles and we need to good things); and then we will need to be thankful (to God) for His awesome Grace and love!

Finally then as we draw near to God, He can work in our lives and restore us.  How good is our wonderful Creator God!

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, I thank You that You have given me a way to get out of depression.  I thank You for Your wonderful Word, the amazing Bible.  I thank You that You love me and that You care for me. I thank You Father that I can talk to You in prayer.  I pray Father that You will always be with me in all that I think, say and do. Please refresh me Father! I pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Jesus our Saviour and our Judge

Our God is Huge!

We KNOW that God loves each one of us!

Our God is so GREAT!  He loves us so much that He sent His only Son, to live on this earth, to die for our sins and to rise up to Heaven to sit at His right hand so that we might have an eternal life with HIM!

This is such a wonderful gift.  Be assured today that WE ARE ALL WELL BELOVED OF GOD.

Prayer; Father God, I thank You for Your enormous gift to me.  I thank You that You love me and that You want me to be with You for all time.  I thank You Father for Your grace and kindness in forgiving me for my sins.  I forgive all those who sin against me today.  I pray all this in the name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Prayer for Spiritual Strength

Be Renewed through God!

Romans 12:2 "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."



We need to be in God and not of this world.  This is such a difficult thing to achieve in this world we find ourselves in.  We need to have a relationship with God that transcends our every day worries and stresses.

We can find this peace in the daily reading of our Bibles and in daily conversations with our Creator God.  Through prayers of thankfulness and prayers of gratitude, God will listen to us and we will draw ever closer to Him.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, you who created the heavens and the earth, I thank You Father for this world that I am able to live in.  I thank You for all that You are to me and I thank you for Your grace.  I thank You that you sent Your Son, Jesus of Nazareth to live and die and be raised into Heaven so that my sins are forgiven.  Father, today I forgive all those who sin against me.  I say all this in the name of my Lord and Saviour, Christ Jesus.  Amen.

Renew your mind!

Renew your mind in God

Philippians 4:8 “So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.”

As Christians, and having been given free will to do as we wish by our awesome Creator God, we really need to control our thoughts!  We need to discard thoughts of hatred, jealousy, bitterness, coveting and anger.  We need to concentrate our thoughts on what is right, good, joyful, forgiving and generous.

This creates in us a feeling of goodness and allows us to become the living spirit of God on earth.

Prayers:  Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God. Today I pray earnestly that You will forgive my sins and help me to get rid of all negative emotions.  I pray that you make me make better choices in my thoughts.  Help me to forgive others as You forgive me.  I pray this in Jesus name. Amen.

Forgiveness!

1 Timothy 1:15 “Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.”

We are all sinners and God knows this.  He has however sent His only Son to live on earth and to die for our sins.  Therefore when we ask God for forgiveness and truly repent, God reads our hearts and removes our sins as far as East is from West.

How wonderful is Our Awesome God!

Be a Good Ambassador for God!

2 Corinthians 5:20 “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”

Here on earth, each and every day, we are ambassadors for the Lord.  We need to reflect His glory.  In order to be good ambassadors, we need to act the part.  That is we need to be kind and gracious and friendly.

We need to know God’s purpose in our lives and we get that from reading His word every day and through prayer.

Prayer: Heavenly father.  I pray today that I may be a really good ambassador for You Lord.  I pray that people see my love for You reflected in my words, my deeds and through my whole demeanor. I pray this in Jesus name. Amen.

Fear not!

Isaiah 41:13
For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

God tells us often in the Bible that He is with us and we know as His children that He is Omniscient, Omnipresent and Omnipotent.

This means that we worship a God who can be everywhere at once. He can be ALL POWERFUL, and he is capable of protecting us completely.

With a wonderful Protector such as this on our side, what or whome should we fear?

Let us today rejoice that we have God in our lives.  That God loves us so much that He sacrificed His only Son on the cross to die for our sins; to be raised from the dead and to ascend into Heaven to prepare a way for our eternal salvation.

Prayer:  Our Heavenly Father, we thank You that You are our protector.  We thank You for our salvation and we thank You that we can talk to You and we can read Your word in peace today.  We say all of this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Amen.

Give thanks to God

Colossians 3:17 "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

Let us be thankful for the love of our Awesome God who created the heavens and the earth. 

As the birds are given wisdom and tools to build their nests by God, how much more are we given?

Let us give thanks to God for all that He has given us and that He loves us with such a giving heart.

Prayer:  Father God, thank you that You love me and that You have numbered the very hairs on my head.  Thank You that You sent Your Son to die for my sins.  Lord forgive my sins as I forgive those who sin against me.  I pray this in the name of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  Amen.

We need to be slow to anger and quick to listent

We need to be more willing to listen and less willing to talk.  This is especially true in our dealings with the people around us.  We learn to live in harmony when we become people that others can talk to and when we take the time to listen to them.

This is also true of our relationship with God.  When we are reading our bibles we cannot be talking and this gives God a time to talk to us.  When we pray we also need to wait in our prayers to give God time to talk to us.  So although we need to talk, we need to make time in our prayers to listen for His word. 

Prayer:  Awesome Father God, give me the ears to hear Your voice and make me less willing to talk and more willing to listen.  I pray that I can hear Your voice each day.  I pray this in the name of my Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus.  Amen.

Praise God

God at work in us!

We need to let God work in our lives.  With God His plan and His timing are all perfect.  

We need to listen to the words of Father and as we read our Bibles and pray every day, His voice will become clearer to us and we will know we are on the right path.

Prayer :  Heavenly Father, I pray today that I may hear you talking to me and that You give me ears to hear and eyes to see You in every single part of my life.  I pray that I may know that I am safe in Your guiding love and that You make my life a better place to live in.
I pray this in the name of the Lord and Saviour, Christ Jesus.

How I know that God loves me!

I know that God loves me through the Bible.  He tells me this in so many verses throughout the Bible.

The above verse tells us that we are conquerors through Him who loved us.  This makes me very sure that I cannot be separated from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour.

I am praying for each and every person who visits my blog.  Together we can conquer the world in the Love of Jesus Christ.

God loves us

The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want!

Isaiah 41:10 “For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”

God tells us not fear anything and to not worry about anything.  We need to put all our fears and our problems into the safe hands of our Father in Heaven.

In this world where stresses and anxiety are the order of the day, it is increasingly difficult to just let go.  That is precisely what God tells us to do.  To leave everything to Him!

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, I thank You that You will take all my fears and all my burdens on Your shoulders.  I thank You that I can talk to you each day and that I can read Your word. I thank you for this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Amen.

God is our beginning and our end

Revelations 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

God is the Almighty Creator of the earth, the heavens and indeed the Universe.  He is the beginning and the end.

Whenever we start our day, it should start with Him. And when we end our day, it should end with Him.  When we do anything, we should do it in His name because He is and was always will be.

Through Him all things were created and if all things do everything through Him, all things are made perfect.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, I thank You that You are my beginning and my end. I thank You that You are always there for me. I thank you that You are in charge of my life. I thank you for this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Perfect Peace

 Isaiah 32:17 “The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.”

God wants us to have perfect peace in our lives.  He tells us in Isaiah that through righteousness, we will have perfect peace.

We need to be righteous in the eyes of God.  We need to have a firm and lasting relationship with God.  We need to pray and to read God's words. 

This does not mean that we will not face trials and tribulations.  However when we do, we will know in perfect peace that God loves us and that He has a marvelous plan for our lives.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, I thank You for the promise of perfect peace and I thank you that I can find this in knowing that You are in charge of my life. I thank you for this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Trust God for all your needs

Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;.”

Following on that God KNOWS each one of us, He then asks us to trust in Him and not to lean on our own understanding.

This is a command from God to know that we are always safe in the hands of our wonderful creator when we trust Him fully for all our needs.

As Christians we need to rely on God for absolutely everything.  Talk to Him about everything and read His word for our daily bread.

How awesome and wonderful and mighty is our God!

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, I thank You that I can lean on You and trust in You for everything pertaining to my life.  I pray that I can spread this good news that You love each and every one of us here on earth.   I pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Amen.

God KNOWS us

Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.

God tells us to be still and to know that He is God. He does not ask us to “believe” that He is God, He tells us to “KNOW” that He is God.

When we still our hearts and our minds and listen to God, we can then KNOW that He is indeed our God in Heaven.  He created us and He KNOWS each one of us.  

He does not tell us that He “believes” that we exist, He tells us that He KNOWS every single one of us.  He knows what we are thinking, what we are doing and indeed He can even number the hairs on our heads. 

How awesome and wonderful and mighty is our God!

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, I thank You that You know me and I acknowledge today that I truly KNOW that You are my Father.  I thank You that I may call You my Father.  I pray that You show me how to share this incredible news.  I pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Amen.

God's plan for our lives

There are no coincidences with God

Proverbs 19:21 “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.”

There are no coincidences with our Lord God.  He made everything exactly the way He wants it.  And He made us in His own image.

We are so blessed to live on this earth and to be able to worship this wonderful Creator, our God and our Father in heaven.

Christ is risen

God is the Alpha and the Omega

Revelations 2:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

God tells us that He is the Alpha and He is the Omega.  He is the beginning and the end.  He is with us now and forever.

Truthfully, how blessed are we that we can call Our Father in Heaven Our Father.  He is and was and always will be!  And He loves us and He wants a relationship with us, now and forever.  We are so loved by Our Almighty Father.
