Sola Scriptura!

As children of GOD, we should always read our Bibles.  This is the way we can hear from GOD.  The Bible is a GOD breathed book. It is infallible.  It is unchanged and it is through our faith in GOD and our faith in HIS word, that we know that GOD speaks to us through this book.

When in doubt as to the voracity of anything anyone tells us, we as children of GOD can always turn to our Bibles.  In our Bibles lie the key to success on earth.  The Bible tells us our history.  It tells us our future.  It tells us the mistakes that we have made and it shows us how to avoid making mistakes.  It gives us fine examples of how to live and fine examples of how not to live.

Today let us encourage each other by taking up our Bibles and reading them daily.  Through this GOD can talk to us and we can have a much closer relationship with HIM.

Prayer: HEAVENLY FATHER, I thank YOU that I have YOUR word.  I thank YOU that I can hear YOU through the Scriptures.  I thank YOU that I am free to read my Bible daily and I thank YOU that YOU can converse with me through the Scriptures.  I pray FATHER that YOU talk to me when I read my Bible.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Praise GOD from whom all blessings flow!

     GOD reigns.  We need to sing to the LORD.  We need to proclaim HIS salvation. 

     We need to declare HIS glory.

Give thanks to GOD!

Let us today give thanks to our GOD.  But let us give thanks with truly grateful hearts.  Let us thank GOD for our families, our homes the people in our lives, the food we eat, the clothes we wear.  Let us thank GOD for this earth that we are so privileged to live on.  Let us thank GOD for our health  and our happiness.  Let us do this with grateful hearts!

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU for all that I am.  I thank YOU for all that I have.  I thank YOU FATHER for YOUR grace and YOUR forgiveness and YOUR mercy.  I thank YOU for everything FATHER.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

The Power of GOD!

Only in the Christian faith are we saved purely through the grace of GOD.   GOD has the power to forgive us no matter how much or how many times or how badly we have sinned.  For all have fallen short of the GRACE OF GOD!  But GOD loves us and therefore HE wanted to give us all a chance to be with HIM in HIS home in Heaven.

So we do not have to do a single thing to get in Heaven.  Which is a really good thing.  All we have to do is accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.  We need to repent of our sins and truly forgive all the people who have sinned against us.  These are not good deeds.  These are only acts of faith.

Then we are to say that we want to accept Jesus Christ as the Son of GOD.  We are saved.  Yes, once we have done that, the Holy Spirit fills us and we want to do good deeds.  But these will not get us into Heaven.

So today please let us all accept Jesus Christ.  Let us repent of our sins and let us truly forgive all those who have sinned against us.

This is the ONLY WAY to Heaven and to GOD.  

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER I thank YOU for YOUR immense power.  The power to cleanse me from my sins.  I thank YOU that YOU gave YOUR Son as a living sacrifice for my salvation.  I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Children of GOD!

For all who are led by the Spirit of GOD are the children of GOD.

So when we become children of GOD, we are infilled with the Holy Spirit who comes to live in us.  The Holy Spirit convicts us and tells us what is right and what is wrong.  We know when we sin and we know when we are doing good and serving GOD.

Through the Holy Spirit we can use the gifts that GOD has given us to spread the word of GOD.  We can use the gifts of prophesy and prayer and worship and this also helps to spread the Gospel.

If we are not feeling the Holy Spirit then there is a barrier to us receiving it and we need to go back to GOD and talk to GOD.  Unless we ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit, we will not truly serving GOD.  Therefore let each one of us ask GOD continually to fill us up with HIS Holy Spirit.

Prayer:  Heavenly FATHER I pray today that YOU continually fill me with the Holy Spirit.  I pray FATHER that I may serve YOU.  I am listening FATHER for YOUR instruction in my life.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

In Christ we are a new creation!

Dear children of GOD.   As it says in the verse above.  If anyone is in Christ he is a new creation.  The old has gone and the new has come.

What exactly does this mean for us?  Well simply put, when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, the Holy Spirit gets poured out on us.  This fills us with joy and hope and gladness.

No longer are we slaves to the things of this world, but rather our sins are washed away and we start our lives afresh.  We then get convicted by the Holy Spirit and we know when we are sinning.  We know when we are walking in the path that GOD wants for us.  

Suddenly the light of world is with us and we are living in light.  No longer are we beholden to the darkness.  We can feel the presence of GOD.  

So if we are not feeling this we need to go down on our knees and accept Jesus as our Saviour.  We need to ask GOD to forgive our sins and we need to forgive all of those who have sinned against us.  And then we need to ask GOD to fill us with HIS Holy Spirit.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER today I beg YOU to forgive my sins as I forgive all those who have sinned against me.  I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.  LORD fill me with YOUR Holy Spirit and let me put on my new self.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  My Lord and Saviour.  Amen.

Revenge and GOD!

The GOD whom we serve is a righteous, gracious, loving and forgiving GOD.  HE does not want us to harbour resentment.  Resentment is self destructive and achieves nothing.  Hatred for one another too is self destructive.  When we hate something, we give the devil a foothold in our lives.

We have also sinned whether intentionally or unintentionally.  For all of us fall short of the grace of GOD.  However we are saved through the spent blood of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Saviour. 

Therefore today, let us concentrate our lives on loving one another and forgiving all those whom we believe have sinned against us or wronged us.  Let us put the past behind us and let us walk in faith that our GOD in Heaven is in charge and HE will right the injustices that we have suffered in HIS way.  Through love and grace and forgiveness.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, YOU who are so gracious and kind and loving, forgive me for my sins.  I forgive all those who have sinned against me.  Today FATHER I pray for intercession for all the sinners of this world.  Forgive them FATHER as I forgive them and YOU forgive me.

I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  My Lord and my Saviour.  Amen.

GOD is watching over us!

As children of the Living GOD, we are always under the watchful gaze of our FATHER in Heaven.  HE is listening to each one of us and HE is watching over us.  

We need to accept that nothing we do is in secret.  Indeed nothing that we think is in secret.  GOD knows every single thing we think, say and do.

It is a huge comfort to have a friend in Jesus, our Saviour, our Brother and join Heir with us.  For Jesus is walking with us today.  

Therefore, let us bow down to this Mighty, Wondrous GOD whom we serve and thank HIM that HE is listening to us and that HE is watching over us.  With GOD on our side, we can defeat anything and overcome anything.  We can move mountains!

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, today I thank YOU that YOU are always watching over me and listening to me.  

I pray for all my family and all my friends.  Many of my friends are battling with disease and challenges.  FATHER, watch over them today and hear their prayers.  I pray for all those who are undergoing treatment for various diseases and I humbly ask FATHER that YOU will be with them.

FATHER protect my wonderful family and let them know through YOUR immense love and grace that they are truly loved.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  My Lord and Saviour, Amen.

Our GOD is a GOD of hope!

Our GOD gives us hope.  Hope of peace and joy.  Hope of the living life in the Holy Spirit and with Jesus as our guide.  And hope of an eternal life with HIM when we pass over into Heaven.

Therefore today, let us fill our hearts with peace and gladness, knowing that our FATHER in Heaven loves each one of us and HE wants nothing but the very best life for us all.

Let us yield our minds, our hearts, our spirits and our bodies over to HIM.  Let us do nothing without praying to HIM for guidance and approval of where we want to go and what we want to do.  Let us thank HIM for HIS goodness and mercy and let us rejoice that Jesus is our Saviour.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU that in YOU I have hope.  Hope for a better future.  Hope for healing and for peace.  Hope for joy.  I thank YOU for filling me with YOUR Holy Spirit.  I thank YOU that Jesus is my Lord and Saviour.  I pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Do not be anxious about anything!

GOD is our Creator.  HE knows exactly what we need, before we need it.  However, GOD never interferes in our lives.  We have complete freewill over every aspect of our lives.

But, we can, with prayer, and in giving thanks first, present our requests to GOD.

There is a process though and most people overlook the process.  Our GOD is a GOD of love and we should love HIM too.  So when we ask for something, let us first thank GOD for all that we have and that we are.  Then we can present our requests.  This is an acknowledgement that we are nothing and we have nothing without our CREATOR -FATHER.

GOD will always give us good gifts.  We already have good gifts.  We just have to look a little further than what we need right now.

Prayer:  FATHER, I thank YOU for all that I have.  I thank YOU for all that I am. I praise YOU FATHER.  FATHER, today I humbly ask that YOU help me through the problems that I face.  I ask this in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Accept Jesus as our Saviour!

The Christian faith is really really simple.  We actually have to do nothing to be saved except to accept Jesus Christ is our Saviour.  We need to believe this and know that GOD raised Him from the dead.

We cannot be saved by good works or deeds.   We cannot be saved by anything except the enormous grace of our GOD who sent HIS Son Jesus Christ to die on a cross for us.

So why did GOD do this?  It is really quite simple.  GOD created the entire universe and everything in it.  Then HE created man.  

Adam and Eve sinned and were cast out of the garden of Eden and there was no way back into the grace of GOD except through sacrifice.  And even then, man and woman continued to sin.  Sacrifices of lambs and other animals were offered, but sin continued unabated.

Then GOD in HIS divine plan sent HIS Son Jesus Christ to be the lamb who would sacrifice Himself to save us from our sins.

Jesus was without sin and even whilst being tortured and beaten and hanged, He did not sin.  

So the only way to Heaven is through the unshakeable belief that Jesus is our Lord and Saviour, and that He died to save us from our sins.  When we accept this, believe it and confess it with our mouths, we are saved.  Simple.  And yet maybe we continue to sin.  So perhaps it is a good idea that we confess this truth often and then ask GOD to forgive us for our sins as we forgive all those who sin against us.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU that YOU sent Jesus Christ to die for me.  I believe that He is my Lord and my Saviour and that He is the way, the truth and the life.  FATHER forgive my sins as I forgive all those who sin against me.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

GOD will provide!

Sometimes as Christians, we are inclined to forget that we are no longer in the driving seat of our lives.  We are the passengers and Jesus is our driver.  Jesus is driving according to GOD's perfect road map.

GOD does not need us to worry about anything.  Worry will not add a single hour to our lives but it does stop us from living the best lives we can.

Let us today make a determined effort to remember that Jesus is our leader and we are merely followers.  Let us not take the wrong path, the path of worry.  Let us walk with a sure foot knowing that our GOD knows exactly what is best for us, whilst we keep our eyes on Jesus and the light by which He is leading us.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER I thank YOU for YOUR direction in my life.  Please let me always follow only Jesus.  Let His light guide my feet surely in YOUR perfect path.

I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

GOD loves us - we are all HIS children!

As I have written above, I am a child of GOD.  The good news is that we are all children of GOD.  GOD loves each one of us and HE loves our individuality.  HE loves the praise we give HIM.  HE loves it when we turn to HIM in prayer.

So today, let us as children of a very real living GOD, turn to HIM and give HIM all the glory.  Let us not dwell on the negativity of this world.  Let us not dwell on the evil that people are doing.  Let us rather go down in worship and praise to our FATHER in Heaven.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I call on YOU today.  YOU are my FATHER and I love YOU.  I want YOU to know that I give YOU all the glory.  Without YOU my life would be absolutely worthless and meaningless.  Because of YOU I have hope and a future.  Thank YOU my FATHER for this enormous grace. 

I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

GOD can heal us!

GOD is great and GOD is glorious.  When we are sick, that is the time to call on this magnificent GOD whom we serve.  However, we need to have faith that GOD can do anything!

In the book of James we read "Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven." ~ James 5:14-15

Today let us be reminded that our GOD is much much bigger than our problems.  Let us not tell people how big the obstacles that we face are, rather let us tell our problems how great our GOD is!

The first step towards healing is to believe that our GOD can do anything, to have faith that GOD created us and that HE wants the very best for us.  The second step is to go down on our knees and beg GOD to forgive us of our sins.  The third step is to forgive, truly forgive those who have sinned against us.  The last step is the hardest, that is to know unequivocally that our GOD can heal us!

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, when I face illness or obstacles, let me remember that YOU are so great.  FATHER, help me to tell my troubles how big YOU are. 

I pray FATHER today, that YOU will step in and heal all my friends who ill.  I pray that YOU will help them and comfort them and give them strength.  I pray that YOU forgive my sins as I forgive all those who have sinned against me.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  My Lord and my Saviour.  Amen.

Heaven is a real place!

There are so many people who do not believe in heaven or hell.  But the Bible tells us that both Heaven and hell exist.  Indeed, Jesus told His disciples that He went to Heaven to prepare a place for us.

Furthermore, Jesus tells us that there are many rooms in His FATHER's house.  He also tells us that we know the way to get to Heaven.

So how do we get to Heaven?  It is simple.  We need to trust and know that Jesus is our Lord and Saviour.  We need to believe that He was born of Virgin Mother.  That He lived on earth as a man.  He died on the cross for you and me.  He rose again after three days in real flesh.  Then forty days later He ascended into Heaven and that He sits as the right hand of GOD our FATHER. 

We need to accept this unequivocally.  Then we need to repent of our sins.  We need to forgive us as we hope to be forgiven.  

We cannot get to Heaven through works or deeds.  Although when the Holy Spirit convicts us we want to do good.  It will not save us.  Only our belief in Jesus Christ can save us.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER I thank YOU for Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour.  Forgive my sins as I forgive those who sin against me.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

GOD is love!

This is such powerful food for thought.  If we do not love, then we do not know GOD for GOD is love!

This verse compels us to love one another as GOD loves us.  Therefore today, let us go through the list in our minds of whom we love and whom we do not.  Let us dwell on those whom we do not love and let us change our minds and renew our love of GOD through actively loving those people.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER I thank YOU for YOUR goodness and mercy.  I pray today FATHER that YOU help me to love all those people whom I struggle to love.  Help me to love as YOU love me.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Stay lovingly graciously GOD blessed today!

GOD is good!

GOD loves you and HE loves me.  HE loves us all.  We need to recognise the unfailing love of GOD and give HIM praise for HIS goodness.

Although we sin continually and do not always love one another as HE loves us, HE still loves us.  

GOD heals us and soothes us and comforts us in times of sickness and in times of trouble.  HE is gracious towards us.  All HE wants in return is that we accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour, and that we love HIM back.

Today let us bow down and worship our FATHER in Heaven for HIS goodness and mercy.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU for YOUR grace.  I love YOU FATHER.  I praise YOU FATHER.  I accept Jesus as my Saviour.  Forgive my sins as I forgive those who sin against me.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.

We are made righteous to GOD through Jesus!

Jesus Christ was pure and had no sin.  Yet GOD sent Him to die on the cross for us.  This is such a huge sacrifice to demonstrate the love of GOD for you and I.

Imagine sending your child and watching people torture him and crucify him  It is too much to bear thinking about.

Today let us take comfort in the love of GOD for each one of us.  GOD really really loves you and me.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER GOD, I thank YOU that YOU love me so much.  I confess my faith to YOU today FATHER.  I accept Jesus as my Saviour.  I love YOU ABBA FATHER.

I pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

As GOD comforts us so we should comfort others!

GOD is compassionate.  If HE was not, HE would never have sent HIS only Son Jesus Christ to die in order to save all of us.

GOD loves each one of us equally.  HE does not favour one over another.  We are all made in HIS image.  Therefore each one of us is as special to GOD as the other.  

Today let us love one another, as GOD loves us and show compassion towards each other.  Let us love each other unconditionally, regardless of race, creed or colour.

Last night I watched the life of Billy Graham on Netflix.  What an absolute privilege.  If you have not watched it, I would urge you to watch how that man changed the world by spreading the word of GOD.

Let us all pray to be more like Billy Graham.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU for the compassion YOU have shown to me.  I pray that I may be as compassionate towards others as YOU are to me.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

When we listen for GOD, we will hear GOD.  If we are not listening, we cannot hear GOD.

GOD speaks to each one of us.  Not always in the same manner.  HE may speak to us through the Scriptures.  HE may speak to us through others and HE may speak to us directly.   

How do we know that GOD is speaking to us.  Well we can always test what we hear in the Bible.  This is why it is so important to read our Bibles and to know GOD's word.  Then is becomes easier to hear from GOD.

Today let us draw close to our FATHER in Heaven and listen for HIS voice and HIS messages to us.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I pray today that I may hear YOUR voice.  I pray that YOU tell me YOUR divine message for my life.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

GOD's perfect plan for our lives!

When GOD speaks to us, we need to listen.  We can only hear GOD when we are quiet.  So how do we know when GOD is speaking to us?  More importantly - how do we hear GOD!

Our GOD has a perfect plan for the entire universe.  HE created it and HE created us.  Long before we were born.  GOD predestined us to live a life that would glorify HIM.  To that end, we were given talents.

One of the talents that we are given is to hear the voice of GOD and to know the voice of GOD.  If we cannot hear GOD or have not heard GOD, it is because we do not know GOD. 

Today let us resolve to fix that.  Let us draw close to our GOD.  Let us make time to read HIS word daily.  Let us follow prayer plans and then let us make time when GOD can speak to each one of us.  For as this verse says:  GOD has a plan for us and that plan will prosper us and give us a future.  It will not harm us - but rather it will give us hope and a future!

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU for YOUR perfect plan for my life.  Please let me hear YOUR voice talking to me and let me know YOUR plan for my life.  I pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and my Saviour.  Amen.

GOD will direct our paths!

We should not lean on our own understanding, but that does not mean we should not use our understanding.  What the Bible tells us is that we need to trust in GOD for everything.  That means we need to give up control of our own lives and hand it over to GOD.

We need to use our understanding but not lean on it.  That means when we acknowledge GOD as our LEADER, our FATHER, our CREATOR and we learn that HIS ways are perfect, we need not depend on ourselves any longer.  We are assured that GOD will lead us correctly.

How can we get to this point?  It is actually a lot more simple than it sounds.  Firstly we need  a living, close relationship with GOD.  This means taking everything to GOD in prayer.  It means reading HIS word daily and learning to know when GOD is sending us a message or telling us how to proceed.  Practise makes perfect.  And this is especially true with our relationship with GOD.  The more we speak to GOD the more we will hear HIS message to us.

The deeper our relationship grows, the more we will learn to trust in HIM and not lean on our own understanding.  When we get to the point of leaving every decision to GOD then we are assured that HE will direct our paths. 

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU that I can trust YOU for all that I am.  I trust in YOU entirely FATHER.  Direct my path.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Called by GOD!

GOD has called each one of us to be HIS children.  We are so privileged to have a FATHER who wants us, who created us, who dreamed of each one of us before we were even born.

Therefore let us accept with gratitude our calling and respond to GOD in worship and praise.  Let us sing to GOD and pray to GOD.  Let us talk about GOD to all and let us tell those who do not know that they are children of GOD, that they are indeed.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU that I have YOU as my FATHER.   I thank YOU for YOUR grace and love and mercy.  FATHER today show me how to go about spreading YOUR love and goodness here on earth.  

I pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour.  Amen.

GOD is closer than you think!

GOD is always with us.  Whether we know it or not.  GOD created us and HE is with us throughout our lives.  We have been given free will to do as we please.  We can accept GOD or reject HIM.  We can accept Jesus or reject Him.

However, GOD never leaves us.  It is us who draw away from HIM.  If we reach out to GOD and accept HIS grace.  If we accept Jesus as our Saviour, GOD is with us.

Today let us accept this enormous gift and go down and worship our GOD.  Our FATHER in Heaven wants to be with each one of us all the time.

Prayer:   Heavenly FATHER GOD, I thank YOU that YOU never move away from me.  I thank YOU that I can reach out to YOU and know that YOU are right here with me.  I thank YOU for Jesus my Lord and Saviour.  Amen.

Heirs with Christ!

Some may find it strange that I call myself a child of GOD.  However, my calling myself a Child of GOD is based on biblical text.  

I take nothing away from the Bible and I add nothing to it.  We are all children of GOD.  I am nothing special, and have nothing more or nothing less to add than anyone on earth.

I am however, created by GOD.  Before I was born to my parents, whom GOD chose for me.  I also do not believe that parents choose their children.  GOD planned each and every one of us at the beginning of time.

Therefore if you are reading this and wondering if you too are a child of GOD.  Yes you are!  That is the most wonderful news.  How can you accept this?  Simple.  Get down on your knees and pray to GOD.  Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.  Repent of your sins and accept your election and calling as a child of the living GOD.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU for all the people on earth.  Every one of whom YOU have created.  I thank YOU for my calling and my election.  I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.  Forgive my sins as I forgive all those who sin against me.

Praise GOD in the highest

If the angels praise GOD continually, shouldn't we be doing this as well?

Let us give GOD all the praise for everything.  For waking up today, for have slept in a bed and for having a roof over our heads.  Let us praise GOD for our lives, the lives of our family and our friends.

Let us proclaim the glory of GOD to all who will listen.  Let us sing to GOD even in the darkest of times.  Let us pray to HIM continually and let us draw comfort from reading HIS word.
