The last supper!

Jesus is the bread of life.  He is the Lamb of GOD.  We need to go back to the Old Testament and read about newborn lambs, lambs without blemish that were sacrificed to atone for the sins of the people. And then there was the "scapegoat".  A goat on whom all sins were of the people were cast and this goat was sent out into the desert to roam about carrying the sins away.

So let us equate all of this to Jesus.  Firstly, our Saviour is our shepherd.  The GOOD shepherd.  The Shepherd who will go out all night searching for a lost sheep.

Tonight we may celebrate  the last supper.  This is where Jesus washed the feet of His disciples.  Jesus took bread and broke it and said "This is my body" and Jesus took wine and said "This is my blood".  And Jesus asked His disciples to "Do this in remembrance of me".

As we go deeper into tonight, we need to think about Jesus and the huge sacrifice that GOD made in sending Him to die for us so that we might have eternal life.  Let us contemplate what Jesus was going through as he reclined at the table with His disciples.  He knew everything that was going to happen to Him.

He knew that He was going to suffer terribly.  He knew that He would end up on the cross and He knew that would die on that cross.  But He also knew that He could conquer death.

So Jesus was willing, as a blameless man (the lamb without blemish), he was going to go onto a cross bearing all of our sins.  He was going to rise up from death and He was going to ascend back into Heaven.  All of this was soley for us to be able to have an eternity with our FATHER in Heaven.

Let us assume an attitude of gratitude tonight.  Let us go down onto our knees and beg GOD to forgive our sins.  Let us forgive all those who have sinned against us. And let us take Jesus as our Lord and our Saviour.

Prayer:  Heavenly FATHER, thank YOU thank YOU thank YOU.  YOU are so gracious.  FATHER forgive me for I have sinned.  I forgive all those who have sinned against me.  I take Jesus as my Lord and my Saviour.  Jesus is my Redeemer.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Stay truly GOD blessed today!
