We can only get to have an eternal life with GOD our FATHER if we believe that Jesus is our Lord and our Saviour. We need to believe that GOD sent HIS only Son to live on earth, to die for our sins on a cross and that He rose from the dead and sits at the right hand of GOD the FATHER.
We need to repent of our sins and we do this when the Holy Spirit convicts us and shows us where we have sinned. We need to forgive others who have sinned against us.
And lastly, we need to love one another as Christ loves us.
However, if we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and our Saviour, then our lives change and we want to do the will of GOD on earth. This is where the above verse comes in. Once we have accepted Christ, then we are able to do good and to not expect any rewards on earth.
When we do not accept rewards on earth, we are assured that our rewards will be great in Heaven.
Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, make me a better person. I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
