Do well!

 In this passage we are told to not grow weary in doing well.  If we continue to do well, in due season, we shall reap if we do not grow faint.

I must confess that this was a particularly difficult year, not just for me, but for a lot of people who I spoke to.  However, the dear LORD turned the year around for us and did unimaginable things in our lives.

During the year, there were times that I felt really tired of praying and praying to the LORD and asking HIM to help.  I wondered if what I was asking was out with of HIS will and plan for my life.  Then at the very end of the year, after so many continuous prayers, the LORD answered my prayers in a way that I could never have imagined.

Although it created a lot of stress for me, I pushed through, and the LORD turned the whole year around.

I give all the praise and worship and glory to the LORD.  I confess that I nearly grew weary and gave up a few times, but I pushed through despite near exhaustion.  Then the LORD allowed me to reap.  And It is a miracle that I will give thanks to the LORD for the rest of my life.

Our dear FATHER loves us and if we do not grow weary, in due time we shall reap.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, today I humbly thank YOU for allowing me to reap.  I very nearly grew faint and gave up, but somehow, YOU sustained me.  I humbly thank YOU and I praise YOU in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  My LORD and my REDEEMER.  Amen.

GOD is my strength forever!

Dear Christ followers, we are so blessed to be children of GOD.  When we are weak, HE is strong.  When we are unable to cope, GOD is able to do all things.

So, no matter what trials and tribulations befall us, we are fortunate to have GOD with us.

When Jesus came to earth, HE tore the veil between GOD and us and we now have direct access to GOD.

GOD will never leave us nor forsake us. 

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, today I thank YOU that YOU are my strength.  An ever present help in times of trouble.  I humbly thank YOU in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

The counsel of the LORD stands!

 Dear Christ followers, the counsel of the LORD shall stand.  

We may plan and make all the arrangements for our life, but if it is not in the plan of GOD, it will not work.

We need to pray to GOD and ask that HIS will be done on earth and not our will.  This is a very hard thing to accomplish.  Once we understand that GOD is completely trustworthy and wants the very best for each one of us, then it becomes easier to give over control.  

In order to trust GOD completely, we need to understand the nature and character of our FATHER.

The best way to get to know GOD is through a habitual daily reading of HIS word.  We need to pray to GOD and to wait to hear from GOD when we pray.  It is a two way communication.  We talk to GOD and GOD answers.

A lot of the times, we do not wait for the answer, and we rush ahead anyway.  But if we exercise patience, GOD will always answer us.  We may not get the answer we want, but GOD is faithful and GOD is true.

Today, let us undertake to wait on the LORD.  

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU that YOU are always listening to me.  I pray that YOUR will be done in my life and that YOU help me to wait on YOU.  I humbly pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Jesus - Immanuel, Christ with us!

 Jesus is the Messiah.  Jesus was born and lived on this earth.  Jesus knows exactly what it means to be faced with the trials and tribulations which we face on earth. 

There is a great difference between Jesus and us, Jesus never sinned.  Jesus was not conceived in sin.  Jesus was born of the Holy Spirit.  Jesus added humanity to HIS deity.

And the biggest difference, Jesus died to save us from our sins.  All of us have sinned and fall way short of the Glory of GOD.  

Only through Jesus can we be saved.  There is no other way.

Jesus is the Truth.  Jesus is the Way and Jesus is the Life.

Today let us thank GOD for HIS saving Grace which has saved us from eternity in hell. 

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, today I praise YOUR Holy Name and I thank YOU for YOUR grace and favour.  I thank YOU in the Holy Name of our LORD and SAVIOUR, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Jesus is the good news!

Dear Christ followers, can you imagine having been a shepherd watching your flocks when an angel of the LORD appeared to them?  How absolutely terrified they must have been.  But then the angel announced the GOOD NEWS.  A SAVIOUR was born on that night to the whole world.  We are privileged enough to be able to call that SAVIOUR our FATHER, our REDEEMER, our LIGHT, our WAY, our TRUTH.

Jesus brought hope into this world.  Jesus is the hope of a future that we can spend eternity in Heaven, without having to do anything except believe in HIM.

Tonight I want to thank Jesus for all that I have, all that I am and all the wonderful people HE has given me this Christmas.

I thank Jesus for my home, my family, my friends.  I thank Jesus for saving a wretch like me.  I thank Jesus for loving me and for not giving up on me.  

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, today I thank YOU for all that YOU have done for me and for which I can never repay YOU.  I thank YOU in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Wonderful Counsellor

 Dear Christ followers, we are so blessed to be able to celebrate the birth of our Saviour.

I am in awe of what Jesus has done for me in the last year and indeed, in my life.

The miracles of my life are far too numerous to mention in a single blog.  Suffice to say, I know my Redeemer lives and I cannot wait to meet HIM in person one day.

Today, I know one thing, I am so blessed to be able to be a Christ follower.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU and I thank YOU and I thank YOU.  I praise YOUR Holy Name.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

The LORD with us!

The Old Testament predicts the coming of the Messiah many times.  More than five hundred times in fact.

This proves the fact that GOD is faithful to us.  GOD planned to give us a way to Heaven and that way is the Truth, the Life and the Way.  That way is Jesus Christ.  In the verse above, Isaiah foretold of the coming of Messiah and that was nearly eight hundred years before Jesus came.

In two days we are celebrating the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.  

As foretold, Jesus was born and lived HIS sinless life and then died for us on that Cross of Calvary.

Jesus conquered death and now sits at the right hand of our FATHER in Heaven.  HE stands in our place where we would be punished for our sins.  Once we have accepted Jesus as our Redeemer, we are justified through this marvellous grace given freely to us by our FATHER in Heaven.  We cannot earn this grace and we cannot work our way into Heaven. All we can do is stand in awe of our Saviour and celebrate HIS birth, life, death and resurrection in two days time.  

But we need to do this in the right way.  Christmas is not about gifts and money.  It is about the love of our FATHER for us.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, thank YOU for YOUR grace and favour.  I humbly accept the free gift of salvation.  Help me to celebrate the birth of Jesus in a way that brings all the glory to YOU.  I humbly pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Shout for joy to the LORD!

 Our FATHER in Heaven has given us everything we need to sing HIS praised.  HE is faithful to love us and to do this despite our shortcoming.  HE is true to us and HE never leaves us nor forsakes us.  GOD wants each and every one of us to come to faith in Jesus.

GOD wants none to perish and go to hell.  HE wants all to spend eternity with HIM.

We are HIS people, the sheep of HIS pasture.  Therefore we can enter HIS gates with thanksgiving and HIS courts with praise.

We need to praise our FATHER for HE is good and HIS love endures forever.  HE is faithful from generation to generation.

Today let us go down on bended knees and thank our FATHER for HIS goodness and HIS mercy as we move towards the celebration of the birth of our SAVIOUR, Jesus Christ in a few days.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, this year has been a year where YOU have been so faithful to me.  I humbly thank YOU for all that YOU have done for me this year.  I thank YOU that my faith in YOU is stronger than it has ever been.  I humbly thank YOU in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ and I shout for joy at the mention of YOUR NAME. Amen.

Seek the LORD!

 Dear Christ followers, as in the days of old, we are called upon to seek the LORD and to rejoice in our hearts.

We need to seek the LORD and HIS strength and seek HIS face evermore.

If we do not understand the nature and character of our FATHER in Heaven, it is extremely to seek HIM.

We need to get to know our FATHER and to form a living relationship with HIM. 

Today let us start in earnest to seek our FATHER in Heaven and get to know HIM better.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, thank YOU that I am able to seek YOUR face.  Thank YOU for being my FATHER.  I humbly thank YOU in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

The LORD most high is awesome!

 As we approach Christmas day, we need to recognise that this time of celebration is far more about celebrating what GOD has done for you and for me.

Without Jesus Christ and the enormous sacrifice made by Jesus and GOD (who watched on as HIS beloved sinless SON was horribly tortured and murdered - innocent of all sin) we need to really shout with cries of joy that our FATHER loves us so much.

We are enormously privileged to be able to call GOD our FATHER.

We are so privileged to be co heirs to the Kingdom of Heaven with Jesus.

We are so privileged to live lives relatively free of persecution for our faith.

We indeed, have a lot to cry to the LORD with joy about this Christmas.  Let us do so with vigour.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, thank YOU that YOU love us so much.  Thank YOU that YOU sent Jesus to die for our sins.  Thank YOU that Jesus rose from the dead, conquering the grave for us to spend eternity with YOU.  We humbly thank YOU in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

The Lord is my strength and my shield!

 Dear Christ followers, Psalms is such a wonderful book of the Bible to turn to when we are seeking to know the character of our FATHER in Heaven.  Here the Psalmist talks about how his heart trusted in the LORD.  

Are we fully appreciative of the fact that we can trust our FATHER with everything.  GOD never fails us, nor leaves us, nor forsakes us.  GOD is with us in every part of our lives.

We need to remember this in our everyday circumstances.

That is why the Psalmist writes that is helped because his heart trusted in GOD.  

When we trust GOD fully, we are happy in our hearts and that knowledge gives us the assurance of the trustworthiness and faithfulness of our FATHER in Heaven.

Jesus said it to HIS disciples.  "I will never leave you, nor forsake you".  And this is true of our FATHER in Heaven in everything we do.  GOD never leaves us nor forsakes us.  HE is always available.  All we have to do is to call on HIM and believe in Jesus.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER show me how to trust YOU in everything I do.  I humbly pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.
