The Lord's prayer!

Jesus taught His disciples how to pray.  He said that when we pray we should honour our FATHER first.  We do this by saying 
         "Our FATHER" - acknowledging that GOD is indeed our FATHER,
         "who Art in Heaven" - our Heavenly FATHER,
        "Hallowed by THY NAME" - we ask that people on earth honour the Name of GOD 
        "THY Kingdom come"  - we hope that Jesus comes back soon to make a new Kingdom             on earth
        "THY will be done on earth as it is in Heaven" - we hope that the WILL of GOD is done 
         on earth in the same manner as what it is in Heaven.

We are then called on to ask GOD for our daily bread.  (In other words to give all glory to GOD for everything we have and everything we need for our lives).

After that Jesus taught that we need to ask GOD every day to forgive our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.  And this needs to repeated every day as we sin every day.

And then we need to ask GOD to keep us from sinning as we are so prone to temptation.

And then lastly again, we glorify GOD by giving HIM the power, the glory forever and ever.

And Amen is the last - "so let it be".

This is a simple prayer but powerful and effective.  

So today let us use this prayer and let us try to do it at least once a day.

Prayer:  Heavenly FATHER, I pray that I remember to pray to YOU in the way Jesus has taught us.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.
