Repentance!

When we repent there is rejoicing in Heaven.  Can you imagine that?

We are only saved through faith by the grace of our FATHER.  We need to have faith in Jesus.  We need to believe in Jesus as our Redeemer.  We need to accept the grace of our FATHER, who had mercy on us and sent HIS only Son to pay for our sins on that cross.

And then we need to repent.  And by repenting, we turn away from our sins.

It does not mean that we will not sin again.  We are human and we are born sinful.  And there is not one amongst us who has not sinned.

There is none "good".  And when the Holy Spirit comes to live and dwell in us, He makes us aware of our sins.

Our sin separates us from GOD.  So repentance is not a once off thing.  As we live we are going to sin.  And the Holy Spirit living in us will show us our sins and again and again, we need to ask our FATHER to forgive us. 

That is why Jesus taught us how to pray.  We need to ask GOD daily to forgive us and in the same way, we need to forgive others.  It is a daily process.

Today, let us ask the Holy Spirit to show us where we have sinned and let us ask our FATHER in heaven to forgive us.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU for the grace and favour YOU have showered on me through sending Jesus to die for me and my sins.  FATHER, I thank YOU for the Holy Spirit living in me.  Holy Spirit, show me my sins and help me not to do the same sins over and over.  I ask YOU, FATHER to forgive my sins as I forgive those who sin against me.  I thank YOU in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  My Lord and my Redeemer.  I pray all of this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.
