GOD with us!

 In this world of our today, it seems that life is very unfair indeed.  But as children of GOD, what do we have to fear?

Our GOD is bigger than anything on this earth.  Our GOD is stronger than anything in this world.  Our GOD is greater than anything that we could ever encounter on earth.  

Therefore today, decide not to be afraid.  Do not fear.  For our GOD is with us!

Prayer:  Heavenly FATHER, with YOU I am never afraid.  I thank YOU for YOUR grace and favour and mercy.  FATHER I thank YOU in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Sojourners of this world!

As children of GOD and co heirs with Jesus Christ, we must plan for our eternal life with GOD.  This life on earth, the here and now, are temporary and fleeting.  

As we concentrate more on doing the will of GOD, the things of this world will naturally grow dim.  The things we deemed so important, start to fade away.   We desire to do the works that our FATHER has prepared for us and we long to see Heaven.

Brethren, I would urge you today.  Plan for your future in Heaven.  It may come sooner than expected and as the Bible tells us.  No one knows the day or the hour when Jesus may return to fetch us.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU that I am YOUR child and I thank YOU for YOUR grace in forgiving me for being a sinner. I thank YOU for sending Jesus Christ to pay for my sins.    I thank YOU that I know that I can look forward to spending eternity with YOU.  I thank YOU in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

The prayers of a righteous person are powerful and effective!

 What does it mean to be a righteous person?  Truly righteous people have done the following:

• They have admitted that they are sinners. 
• They have gone down on bended knees and have begged GOD to forgive them
• They have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and their Saviour.
• They have confessed their faith in Jesus with their mouths.
• They have been filled with the Holy Spirit. 
• They believe in their hearts that Jesus is exactly who He says He is and that is:
• Born of a Virgin Mother
• Was without sin
• Was a GOD in a human form on this earth for 33 years
• Performed many miracles during His life, including but not limited to walking on water, resurrecting the dead, feeding many thousands of people with very little food. 
• Died on a cross taking all our sins with Him to His death.
• Rose on the third day and ascended into Heaven, conquering death and He now sits at the right Hand of GOD our FATHER.

Righteous people do good works and the fruits of their belief reflect the light of GOD on earth. 

That is how we identify righteous people.  I know I have simplified it and many pastors and teachers may wish to add to the list above.  But this is my belief.

I know that once we are made righteous in GOD;s eyes through the acceptance of Jesus Christ, our sins are forgiven.  We are saved and we can pray.  Knowing that our prayers are powerful and effective.

So today, if you have not done so, I would beg you to accept Jesus Christ and ask GOD to forgive your sins. Believe in your heart that Jesus is exactly who He claims to be, our Lord, our Saviour, our Light on earth, and mostly, our entry to eternal life with our FATHER in Heaven. Confess this with your mouth and ask that you be filled with the Holy Spirit today!

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I admit that I am a sinner, I believe in my heart that Jesus is my Lord and my Saviour, and I confess this now with my heart.  Come Holy Spirit and indwell me and fill me with your goodness and your righteousness.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Stay powerfully and effectively GOD blessed today.

Submit to GOD!

 When we submit to GOD's will over our own will, GOD draws closer to us.  We can, with the help of our FATHER and our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, resist the devil, who will flee from us.  

Through a close and intimate relationship with our Triune GOD, we are able to resist all the temptations of this earthly dwelling.  And the strange thing is, that the more we draw closer to GOD the less we will be tempted.  After all, the devil could not stay anywhere near the presence of our FATHER in Heaven.

And our FATHER is the CREATOR, yes even of the devil himself.  So let us bow down to our FATHER in Heaven today.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU that I am able to draw closer to YOU each and every day.  FATHER I thank YOU that through YOU, I am able to resist temptations.  I thank YOU in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Wisdom from above!

On this Christmas eve, let us reflect on the above verse written by James the Brother of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.  

Wisdom that comes from GOD is peaceable.  What an amazing GOD we serve!  When we ask for wisdom from GOD, we get a wisdom that is not of this world.  We do not become "worldly wise".  We become peaceable and gentle and full of mercy and impartial.  Without hypocrasy!

So today, choose to ask GOD for wisdom rather than searching for this attribute through books and manuals and through the so called "enlightened" ways of this world.  

Ask our dearest FATHER in Heaven, whose plan for our lives is perfect, to give us of  HIS  wisdom and then accept HIS grace.  For HIS grace is boundless and HIS mercy reigns.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU for YOUR grace and YOUR mercy.  Let YOUR mercy reign in my life and grant me wisdom, Oh FATHER.  I thank YOU in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Faith without works is dead!

 Dearest children of GOD, having accepted the fact that we are all sinners, having believed in our hearts that Jesus is our Saviour, the Messiah, having confessed this truth with our mouths, we have become filled with the Holy Spirit.  This is the Holy Spirit of GOD poured out on us.

The Holy Spirit guides us and shows us where to do good works.  If we fail to do this, to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, then our faith is dead!  

Please do not misunderstand this verse.  Good works will not get us in Heaven.  We have achieved that through the acceptance of the Lord Jesus and admission of our sins.  But when we stop listening to the Holy Spirit, our faith has died!

Prayer;  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU for YOUR Holy Spirit living in me.  FATHER let me have the wisdom to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit and let this lead me to do good works.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Asking for wisdom!

GOD gives generously to all.  All we have to do is ask and to trust that GOD will grant it to us.

This does not apply to wanting a new car or a new house or new clothes.  Rather it is to do with wisdom. 

James, the author of the above verse says that if we lack wisdom we have to ask GOD who will grant it to us.  Wisdom is key to understanding our faith and our belief.  If we are wiser we can more easily accept that GOD is in control and not ourselves. 

Therefore if we want anything from GOD, let us ask GOD to give us the wisdom.  It is singularly the most important quality that we can have. 

Prayer;  ABBA FATHER, today I humbly ask that YOU grant me wisdom.  Wisdom to know what it is that YOU want for my life.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

GOD will never leave us nor forsake us!

 When we accept Jesus as our Lord and our Saviour, when we admit that we are sinners, and when we believe in GOD our FATHER, our CREATOR, then we should also accept that we are never alone.

GOD is everywhere (omnipresent) and is  MASTER over everything; GOD knows everything(omniscient) and GOD is all powerful (omnipotent). 

Therefore with GOD on our side, why would we worry about anything.  Our GOD tells us plainly that HE will never leave us and HE will never forsake us.  No matter the trials or tribulations that we are facing, GOD is with us, every step of the way.  

As we head towards Christmas and the celebration of the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ, let us thank our CREATOR FATHER for HIS grace and favour.  Let us thank GOD that HE is always with us where ever we go.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU for YOUR grace and Favour.  FATHER I thank YOU that I am never without YOU in my life.  I thank YOU in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

GOD has a plan for each of our lives.  But HE in HIS loving kindness has given each of us free will.  Free will to do exactly as we please.

However, when we accept Jesus and have believe in our hearts that He is our Saviour, we are convicted by the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit will direct our footsteps to show us GOD's way.  What we have to do is to relinquish our will to GOD's will through prayer and interaction with GOD on a daily basis.

Today, run the race with perseverance which GOD will provide for you.  Run the race GOD has marked out for you and do not try to run on your own.  This will take you on a journey with GOD and ultimately, towards an eternity with our FATHER in Heaven.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU for my faith in YOU.  I thank YOU for YOUR grace and favour towards me.  FATHER I want to run in YOUR race.  Guide my footsteps to YOU.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

What faith is!

 In Hebrews we read a beautiful succinct description of what faith actually is.  It is the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen!

When we read further in Hebrews, we start to realize what our faith needs to look like.  Imagine GOD appearing to us as HE did to Abraham, then Abram.  And telling us to leave our land as HE was directing Abraham to a better land.  Not only that, Sarah was childless and yet GOD (through HIS messenger) told her that she would conceive a child in her old age.  She believed HIM and she had a son, Isaac.

By faith Noah built the ark.

By faith David slew Goliath.

By faith, Moses's mother hid him in the reeds from the decree of murder by Pharoah.

By faith Moses went to Egypt and took the Israelites out of Egypt.

And so we go on in the Bible.  

When we have faith, we truly can move mountains.  

The next question is, how do we grow our faith.  We trust in the assurance of things hoped for.  And we do this by reading our Bibles, by prayer, by being close to GOD throughout our day, not just in the morning or the evening or once a week.  We strengthen our faith through the communion with other believers.  We strengthen our faith by evangelizing and spreading the good news.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, thank YOU for my faith.  Help me to grow my faith daily and help me to hope for my eternity with YOU.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

 As this verse says, let us spur one another on towards love and good deeds.

We, as children of GOD, must meet together, and fellowship with one another.  That encourages us to grow in our faith.  Although it sometimes feels like we just want to be be on own, our best growth in Jesus comes through hearing the Word.  In Church, in fellowship meetings, in groups or just talking to friends.  

Therefore, make time to meet with other believers.  Make time to worship together. Make time to pray together.  And remember Jesus's words "Where two or more are gathered in My name, there I shall be also".

Prayer;  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU for family, for friends and for fellowship.  I pray FATHER that YOU bless my family, my friends and those that I fellowship with. FATHER, show me how to be an encouragement to others that I meet.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Through one sacrifice, we can all have grace!

 When Jesus came to this earth, although He was tempted, He never gave in to temptation.  So in effect, a Human sacrifice took the place of the animals which were sacrificed as atonement for sins. 

This Lamb of GOD, was slain upon a cross and on that cross, He took all our sins and washed them for us for eternity.  That is the Truth.  That forever, those who are being made Holy are purified from sin.

We need to accept that enormous sacrifice.  Both verbally and in our hearts.  We need to admit that we are sinners.  We need to believe in our hearts that Jesus is who the Bible says He is.  And we need to confess this truth with our hearts.

After that we are being made Holy by Jesus coming to live in our lives.  We need to not only invite Jesus in, we need to give Him free reign over our lives.  We need to walk in His footsteps and not expect Him to follow us.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I give my life to YOU and I fall upon YOUR mercy and YOUR grace.  You are amazing.  Jesus is amazing.  Thank YOU FATHER, in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

King of Righteousness - Jesus Christ!

 The King of Righteousness is such a profound passage in the Bible.  Dealing with the new Covenant that Jesus brought to the world.  This covenant replaces the Abrahamic Covenant and the Mosaic Covenant.  

This Covenant that Jesus has brought to us is the GOOD NEWS.  So I felt it so important to belabour the point by printing the whole Hebrews 7 Chapter so that you, dear reader may understand how important the coming of Jesus Christ was to us in particular.

We no longer live under the law.  We are truly set free.  We do not have to keep 603 laws to get to Heaven.  This would be impossible in any event.  But all we have to do is to believe in this beautiful High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.  Our Saviour Jesus Christ.

So, hard as I might try, the author of Hebrews (perhaps Barnabas) puts it so succinctly that I thought I might give you a really long read.  Long, but worth it.  To understand the importance of this High Priesthood.

When Abraham met Melchizedek, he gave him a tenth of all his goods and chattels.  That is truly amazing.  When Moses came to the earth, he was given stone tablets with 10 commandments on them.  But when Jesus came, He gave us the law to write on our hearts.  

We need to love GOD above everything on earth, and we need to love one another.  When we love GOD, there is no way that we can continue on our path of being selfish to our brethren on earth.  We need to love them the way GOD loves us.  Unconditionally. 

Thankfully, under the Grace of GOD. although we are sinners, we are saved if we will but accept that Jesus is the Son of GOD who came to earth, lived on earth a sinless life, died on a cross for us to be saved, and conquered death so that we might have eternal life with our FATHER in Heaven.

So I say to you today.  May the Grace of GOD be with you all today.  May this day and this season bring you all the joy and peace of our FATHER which surpasses all understanding.

Prayer;  ABBA FATHER I thank YOU for this day.  I pray that all reading this may YOUR grace and YOUR peace to guard their hearts and their minds.  I ask this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Jesus - a High priest forever -in the order of Melchizedek!

Jesus, like Melchizedek, has no beginning and He has no end.  For He was not created.  He is the Creator along with GOD our FATHER.

Therefore in Hebrews 7 we read that Jesus is a High priest in the order of Melchizedek. 

The name Melchizedek means “king of righteousness”; then also, “king of Salem” means “king of peace.” Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever.

And Jesus  reigns over life and death.  He will judge us.  Not GOD.  And the only way to get to GOD is to go through the Son - Jesus Christ.

Therefore, if you have not done so, accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour of your life.  Give your life to this beautiful High Priest - this King of peace!  This King of righteousness.  

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER and Jesus, please hear my prayers today.  I pray that all reading this blog will give their lives to you if they have not done so.  I pray that all who are reading this blog who have given their lives to You will be truly blessed.

FATHER, I pray for all my family and my friends that they may blessed today.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Perfection in Jesus!

 Through Jesus dying on the cross, He submitted to the will of GOD to punish HIS only Son for our sins.  Jesus therefore, became perfect on the cross.  He then conquered death and rose again on the third day, thus showing us that through our belief in Him, we too can have life everlasting with our FATHER in Heaven.

We have to do absolutely nothing to be under the grace of GOD.  We do not have to give away all our worldly possessions or pay millions of Dollars.  We just have to admit that we are sinners.  That Jesus died for us and that He rose again.  We need to confess with our mouths that this is the True Son of GOD.   This is not complicated.

Accept Jesus today as your Lord and Saviour.  Accept the Grace of GOD.  Admit that we are all sinners.  And we have eternal life.  We are justified.  (Just as if we had never sinned.).

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I accept YOUR Son as my Lord and Saviour.  I am indeed a sinner.  FATHER grant me YOUR grace.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

The word of GOD is alive!

When you read your Bible daily, you will start to see the absolute inerrant word of GOD.  Each and every Bible chapter is teaching us and showing us how wonderful the CREATOR GOD is whom we serve.  Our FATHER loves us and HE has given us this earth and our free will to do with as we wish.

And all HE wants from us is that we want a relationship with HIM.  HE has given us HIS Son to die in our place so that we might live in eternity with HIM.

Today start putting in plans for an eternity with GOD.  Get to know HIM intimately by reading HIS word daily.  Pray to HIM continually about everything and anything.  Praise HIM by singing Hymns and by telling others the good news.  This is what our FATHER wants from us.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU that I can read YOUR word freely and without persecution.  I thank YOU that I can serve YOU and worship YOU.  I thank YOU for Jesus whom I have accepted as my Lord and my Saviour.  I thank YOU in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

A new Covenant!

During the time of  Moses there were  the ten commandments as well as about six hundred laws which the Israelites followed.  You only have to read Leviticus to see how onerous these laws were.  But there was a reason for all of these laws and you have to take into the lifestyle of being in a desert for forty years. 

Most of the laws of Leviticus were simply to keep the people alive.  

When Adam sinned, he separated us from the love of GOD.  Until that point, we would have remained living in the garden of Eden.  But we were banished and we are, unfortunately all sinners.  We are born to sin and unless we accept Jesus, we will die from sin.

So Jesus came to earth, to give us a new covenant.  That covenant is simple.  Admit that we are sinners.  Believe in Jesus as our Lord and Saviour and confess with our mouths that Jesus is the only way to an eternal life with GOD in Heaven. 

Today, if you have not done so or are thinking about it, do not hesitate, accept the Lord Jesus into your life.  Invite Him to come and live in your heart.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU for the new covenant.  I know it does not do away with the ten commandments, but it does cover me under YOUR grace.  I thank you for Jesus Christ, my Lord and my Saviour.  Amen.

Confidence in Jesus Christ!

 We need to have faith.  That is the requirement that will get us to Heaven.  Faith in our FATHER GOD.  Faith that HE sent His Son to die on a cross and in so doing saved us from our sinful nature.  That is blessed assurance.

No matter how badly we have sinned.  No matter what we have done, when we believe that Jesus is our Lord and our Saviour.  When we confess with our mouths this Truth, and when we admit that we cannot be sinless, we have faith.  That faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and our Saviour, that faith will get us into Heaven.

There is absolutely no other way.  We cannot work our way into Heaven.  We cannot talk our way into Heaven.  We need to have faith. 

Grow your faith today by reading your Bible.  Grow your faith by talking to GOD in prayer.  Grow your faith by talking to like minded people about your faith.

Prayer:  Heavenly FATHER, I thank YOU that I have faith in Jesus and in YOU FATHER.  I thank YOU in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

It is all about Jesus!

There is only one GOD.  And He is our FATHER in Heaven.  GOD is our CREATOR.  HE was not created.  And Jesus was with GOD in the beginning.  Jesus was the word.  When GOD spoke the universe into existence, Jesus was that word.  Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.  Without Jesus we have no hope of ever attaining the purity required of us to enter into Heaven.

That is why GOD sent HIS only Son to live on this earth, to die on a cross and to wash our sins as  white as snow.  Without GOD there would be no Heaven and there would be no hell.  Without Jesus we can never get to Heaven.

Today, if you have not done so.  Admit that you are a sinner.  Believe in Jesus Christ with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength.  And accept Jesus Christ as your way to Heaven.  Confess with your mouth these truths and you are assured today that GOD has, through Jesus, ensured your way to eternal life with HIM.  There is no other way!

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU for my life and I thank YOU for Jesus Christ.  I admit that I am a sinner.  I believe that Jesus is the only Saviour of this world.  I confess this with my mouth to YOU today.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

The Bible is the inerrant and GOD breathed Word of GOD!

 The Bible is not a random collection of writings.  The Bible is the inerrant Word of GOD.  It is infallible and the more time that you spend in it, the more you come to realise that this is GOD talking to us.  GOD is teaching us and correcting us in HIS word.

The thing that we need to do, is to open the Bible every single day and to read from it daily.  This increases our relationship with our FATHER in Heaven.  It shows us the nature of GOD and reveals to us our purpose on earth.

So I challenge anyone reading this today to start to read your Bible daily.  

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU that I have developed such a thirst for YOUR word.  Please FATHER instill in anyone reading this today the thirst to hear from YOU and about YOU.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Exercise Godliness!

 It is of course true to say that exercise is good for our bodies and our minds.  But the best exercise that we can get is from practising Godliness.  This is profitable to all things as the verse above says.

How can we do this?  By reading the word of GOD daily.  By praying about everything.  By spreading the word of GOD to others.  By fellowshipping with other Christians.  

This is the best exercise that we can get because it is preparing us for life everlasting in Heaven with our FATHER.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, thank you for the exercise that I get by worshipping YOU.  I thank YOU in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

The mediator - Jesus Christ of Nazareth!

 As children of GOD, we are often told that we worship the same god as other religions.  I always reply the same when I am told this.

"Did your god send his son to die for my sins?  Because, if he didn't, then we are not worshipping the same god."

Now that sounds very controversial in a world where we are reluctant to enter into an argument, and the above is construed in a very negative light by the recipients.  But this is the only truth.

Our GOD, our FATHER in Heaven, put in place a plan to give you and I the means to spend eternity with HIM in Heaven.  And there is no other way to get there.  Not by good works, not by good deeds, not by leading a celibate life, not by being the best person ever.  No the only way to get to Heaven is through our faith, our belief in the fact.  There is one GOD and HE sent HIS Son Jesus Christ, to live on this earth.  To live a sinless life.  To be crucified on a cross.  To take my sins there and to wash them as white as snow.

No priests can absolve our sins.  No person can forgive our sins.  Only GOD can do that.  And we need to believein our hearts and confess with our mouths that HIS Son Jesus Christ, is our Saviour and is the  only way to get to Heaven.

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, I know that YOU are the only GOD and that YOUR Son Jesus Christ is my Lord and my Saviour.  I accept YOUR grace and beg that YOU forgive my sins today.  I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.
