Commitment is a word that seems to have been forgotten today. Or it is used incorrectly in a lot of instances. True commitment means to give yourself wholly to the task, the person or the promise.
So when we commit a plan to GOD it means that we give it to GOD fully. We relinquish our will to GOD's will. We let GOD take charge and take control fully. We become the vessel and not the driver.
This is so important, because when GOD reads our hearts and searches our motives, clearly, HE knows what our intentions truly are. Whether in fact, we have given GOD free reign in our plans.
In order to give GOD full control, we need to trust HIM completely. We need to know HIM completely and we need to be in a tight relationship with HIM.
This we do by daily being in conversation with GOD through reading HIS word, communing with other Christians, by prayer and by learning to take each and every day, plan, idea and giving it to GOD first and then putting GOD in complete charge of our lives. The verse tells us that GOD will then direct our plans.
Prayer: ABBA FATHER, I commit all my ways, my plans, my thoughts and my ideals to YOU today. Take full charge of my life FATHER. I pray this in the Holy name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
