Dear Christ followers, with all that is going on in the world, today I can relate to the writer of this Psalm.
Certainly one day in the court of our Heavenly FATHER is better than a thousand elsewhere.
I too, would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my FATHER than to dwell in the tents of the wicked.
Our FATHER is Good, Gracious, Holy, Righteous, Merciful and truly Loving.
Whilst the events that are unfolding around the world are, to say the least, extremely perplexing.
Evil people are being allowed to walk the streets and yell obscenities and call for the murder of others, whilst Christians praying silently are being arrested for their silent prayers.
As long as your "brand of protest" looks vicious and screams obscenities louder, you are all right, but if you are a docile Christ follower, beware!
Jesus did warn of us this and told us to "not let our hearts be troubled" for these things must take place.
So today, let us turn to the Scriptures and find comfort and strength in the words of our FATHER, our SAVIOUR and the Holy Spirit. Let us read the Scriptures, calm our hearts and wait on the LORD. For the day is coming when HE will come to fetch us home, to be where HE is.
Prayer: ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU that today YOU gave me Psalm 84 to read and to savour. I thank YOU so much for YOUR love and for Jesus Christ and for the Holy Spirit. I thank YOU in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
