Dearest CHRIST followers we cannot expect that JESUS forgive us of our sins when we are not willing to forgive others. In fact, in Matthew 6:15 we are told:
"But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your FATHER forgive your trespasses."
As CHRIST followers, when we repent and believe we are forgiven of our sins. The Bible tells us that GOD removes our sins from us as far as the east is from the west.
However, when we feel wronged, it is a truly difficult thing to forgive.
When we do forgive, it frees us, and that is the thing to remember. Forgiving helps us to move along from the event. Without forgiveness, we are always stuck in that situation. Once we forgive, we can get over the incident and although we may never forget it, we are no longer holding the grudge.
That is the big thing. Holding onto the hurts of life will not bring us into the fullness of the love of JESUS.
In order for us to be forgiven, we need to forgive! Today if we are holding on to the sins that people have committed against us, let us forgive them and ask our FATHER to forgive us as we have forgiven them.
Prayer: ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU for YOUR grace and favour. FATHER today I forgive all those who have sinned against me. FATHER I pray that YOU will forgive me as I have forgiven them. I humbly ask this in the HOLY name of JESUS CHRIST. Amen.
