Dear Christ followers, we need to realize that there really are evil forces out there. Now whilst we may think we are living Christian lives, have we examined our thoughts.
For the thoughts we think are known to Jesus. So when we think bad thoughts, what we need to do is to take those thoughts captive and to hand them over to Jesus.
It is no good thinking that we reading the Word, praying and going to church and then having bad thoughts, because GOD reads our hearts and minds.
When bad thoughts come into our mind we need to recognise them and take hold of them and cast them out immediately. Do not give credence to them or they may take hold and cause us to sin.
Paul cautions above that we bring such thoughts into captivity immediately and to the obedience of Christ.
What we can do when such thoughts enter our heads is to pray the Lord's prayer or recite a favourite Hymn immediately. Recite a favourite Bible verse - this also helps and then pray to Jesus to help for those thoughts to never return. But we must act.
Prayer: ABBA FATHER, I thank YOU that YOU are in my life. FATHER help me to control my thoughts and to take bad thoughts captive immediately and to deal with them in YOUR MIGHTY and HOLY NAME. I humbly pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
