Gratitude!

Let us give thanks today to GOD our FATHER in Heaven. HIS mercy and HIS love have no limits.  GOD loves us and HE offers us life eternal if we will but believe in HIS Son Jesus Christ.  Jesus is the way the truth and the life.  No one comes to the FATHER but through Him.

Today lets remember that GOD so loved the world that HE sent HIS only begotten SON, so that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have life everlasting.  (John 3:16).

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER I thank YOU today for the love and grace that YOU gave to me in sending YOUR Son Jesus Christ to live on this earth and to die for my sins.  I love YOU FATHER.  I pray all of this in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Kindness!

GOD is love!  

To demonstrate that we are indeed children of the Living Loving GOD we need to be kind.  

It is always such a blessing when someone shows kindness to us.  In situations where we are in need or feeling down or in trouble or just in need of someone to talk to, it is a wonderful thing to have a kind word spoken or a kind deed performed for us.

In the same way as children of the most High, Gracious GOD we need to extend kindness to one another.  An act of kindness demonstrates to the recipient that we love them and it makes them feel loved.  

Prayer:  Heavenly Gracious FATHER, today let me be kind to someone in a way that shows that I am YOUR child.  Let me always try to be kind rather than to turn away from helping in any way that I can.  I pray this in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Wait for the Lord!

King David is accredited with writing most of the Psalms.  In this Psalm he tells us that we should be brave and courageous and wait for the Lord.

GOD's timing is always perfect.  When we want to do everything in our time, it often does not work out the way we want.  However if we take everything to GOD in prayer and then wait for GOD to answer us, the plan is perfect.

We need to lean on GOD and not on our own understanding.  We need to pray to GOD not once or twice a day, but fervently about everything.  We need to know that GOD is our FATHER and we need to draw close to HIS perfect plan for our lives.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, today I pray that YOU will grant me the patience to wait for YOU to answer my prayers and stop trying to push everything into my time.  FATHER I humbly pray this in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Love!

This is truly one of the most beautiful passages of the Bible.  Love is patient.  It is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast.  It is not proud.  It does not dishonour others.  It is not self seeking and it is not easily angered.  It keeps no record of wrongs.

This passage describes in vivid detail the love of GOD for us all and it describes fully the very character of Jesus.  It is an affirmation that our GOD loves us and the HE wants the very best for us all.  HE wants a relationship with us where there are no disputes or anger.  No boasting or envy.

What a beautiful magnificent GOD we serve!

Prayer:  ABBA FATHER, how great THOU art!  I worship YOU FATHER.  I adore YOU and I want to be YOUR child.  I humbly pray FATHER that you give me all the characteristics of this verse today.  Make me patient, and kind.  Take away any envy that I have.  Keep me from boasting and let me be humble.  Chastise me when I dishonour others and let me not be self seeking.  Keep me from being easily angered.  Do not let me keep a record of any wrong doings.  I humbly pray this in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

A Clean Heart!

Renew the Spirit within me.  This is an Old Testament verse and yet it speaks of GOD giving us a clean heart and renewing the Spirit within us.  The Holy Spirit, GOD THE FATHER and Jesus Christ are the Holy Trinity and a profound mystery.  In the New Testament the Holy Spirit was poured out on the disciples.  

Yet even in the Old Testament days, the Holy Spirit was acknowledged and King David asked GOD to renew the Spirit within him.

Let us today ask GOD to clean our hearts and renew the Holy Spirit within each one of us.

Prayer:  Heavenly FATHER GOD, clean my heart today.  Forgive my sins as I forgive those who sin against me.  Let my heart be clean of sin and let me no longer grieve over those who have sinned against me.  Renew the Holy Spirit in me FATHER.  Give me a renewed Spirit in me to go out and spread YOUR word and do good and love my brothers and sisters on this earth.  I pray this in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Gentleness!

Jesus is often referred to as "Gentle".  We think about the woman at the well.  And how gently Jesus treated her. (John 4:7 -26).  He knew that she had no husband and that she had been married many times and he could have ignored her or chastised her.  Yet he spoke to her and corrected her and converted her.We think about the woman caught committing adultery and how gently Jesus treated her.  (John 8:2-12).  He could have chastised her, instead He told the crowd who had brought her that whomsoever had never committed a sin should throw the first stone.  No one threw a stone and eventually the only people left were Jesus and the woman.  He told her to go away and sin no more!

We think about the verse when Jesus said "suffer the little children to come unto me."(Matthew 9:14).

Gentleness is a fruit of the Holy Spirit and it is one of the true signs of being filled with the Holy Spirit.

When we show gentleness in our dealings with people it is remembered and it is always noticed,  and most of all,  it gives glory to GOD and shows that we are indeed filled with the Holy Spirit.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER GOD, I humbly ask that YOU make me gentle like Jesus.  Show me how to be gentle in all my dealings.  I pray this in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Pentecost!

Did you receive the Holy Spirit? How would we know if we have received the Holy Spirit?  In Acts, Luke, a Scholar of Paul writes that when the day of Pentecost came, (Pentecost being the day celebrated as the day that the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Disciples and as described above,) the Disciples began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

The fruits of the Holy Spirit are Love, Joy, Peace, Endurance, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and self-control.

When we are filled with the Holy Spirit these are the character traits that we are given, some in more abundance than others. 

To know that we are filled with the Holy Spirit also gives us a conscience which enables us to discern right from wrong.  It is the “Jesus-like traits” that we are given where we are more prone to love than to hate, to be humble rather than to be proud, to desire peace more than conflict, to be long suffering rather than short tempered, to be kind rather than nasty, to be good rather than evil, to be faithful rather than faithless, to be gentle rather than harsh. These are the character traits which give us self-control over our lives.

The gifts of the Holy Spirit are being able to speak in tongues, wisdom, faith, prophesy, healing, miracles, discerning of Spirits, and being able to interpret tongues.

The question is how can we be filled with the Holy Spirit? We need to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, We need to repent of our sins and forgive those who have sinned against us.  And then we need to be ask GOD to baptize us with the Holy Spirit.

How will we know then if we have the Holy Spirit, just go back and read the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the fruits of the Holy Spirit and we will notice our lives being changed by the infilling of the Holy Spirit.   

Prayer:  Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent GOD, I thank YOU for sending YOUR Son Jesus Christ to die for my sins.  I thank YOU FATHER that I am saved through YOUR enormous grace.  I humbly ask FATHER that YOU forgive my sins as I forgive those who have sinned against me.  I pray FATHER that YOU will fill me and baptize me with Holy Spirit.  I pray this in the name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Gifts of the Holy Spirit!

Paul tells us in his letter to the Corinthians, that we are given the Holy Spirit in a special way and it is for the good of all.  To some are given the gift of knowledge, to others faith, to others healing.  Others can perform miracles and others can prophesy.

Whatever our gifts are that we are given by the Holy Spirit, the most important part of this is to accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour and our Redeemer.  Then we need to ask GOD to fill us with the Holy Spirit.  When the Holy Spirit comes upon us, so will our gifts.  

How will we know that we are filled with the Holy Spirit?  Simple our gifts will start to manifest themselves.  If you do not know what your gifts are, chances are you need to ask GOD to fill us with the Holy Spirit and then we need to have GOD in our lives. 

Draw close to GOD today.  Accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour and our Redeemer.  Ask for forgiveness of our sins and forgive those who sin against us.  Then ask GOD earnestly to fill us with HIS Holy Spirit.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER, I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.  I humbly ask that YOU forgive my sins as I forgive those who sin against me.  I ask FATHER that you send YOUR Holy Spirit to live in me and fill me.  Show me what gifts the Holy Spirit has given me so that I might use them to YOUR glory and honour, O GOD.  I pray this in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Love!

In the book of Romans, Paul writes that we are than conquerors through Him who loved us.  He goes on to say that neither death, nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing shall be able to separate us for the love of GOD which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. 

What a fantastic view of the love of our GOD, our FATHER in Heaven, who sent HIS only begotten Son to die for our sins.  What love has GOD shown us that we could ever hope to repay?

As the world today celebrates the marriage of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle, let us dwell on this message and know that whatever we think love is, whatever we imagine love is, we can never ever love anyone as much as our GOD loves each one of us!

Prayer:  Wonderful CREATOR GOD, our FATHER in Heaven, today we thank YOU for YOUR unfailing love.  We thank YOU FATHER that YOU are love and we thank YOU for YOUR Son Jesus Christ, without whom we have no way of spending eternal life with YOU.  Forgive us our sins, FATHER as we forgive those who sin against us.  And teach us to love one another as YOU have loved us.  We humbly pray all of this in the Name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Let people know that we are disciples of Jesus!

And Jesus spoke to His disciples saying, "A new commandment I give unto you.  Love one another as I have loved you and then the world will know that you are My disciples".  

What a profound statement and what an obligation it places on us if we proclaim that we love our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  We then need to follow up our words with the actions of loving each and every person.  Not just our family and our friends, but each and every person that we meet.

When we walk with Jesus, and when we feel our hand resting in His, He draws near to us and comes to live in our hearts.  He allows us to pray to His FATHER in Heaven, our FATHER GOD.  He petitions GOD to hear our prayers and He gives us His peace.

Prayer:  Heavenly FATHER GOD, today I humbly ask that YOU guide me to love each and every person I meet.  I ask that YOU forgive me where I have failed to do this as I forgive all those who have failed to show love to me.  I pray all of this in the Heavenly Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Righteousness!

In Proverbs, we are told that whosoever pursues righteousness and love, that person finds life, prosperity and honour.  GOD is gracious and loving and kind and HE wants the very best lives for us all. 

However we are given free will to make choices about our lives.  The Bible gives us life lessons and if we follow these guidelines for our daily living, we find that all of a sudden we are in GOD's plan for our lives.  This is a perfect plan and we are not capable of making perfect plans, because we are all sinners.  

Because we separate ourselves from GOD by sinning constantly, whether we mean to or not, we remove ourselves from GOD's plan. We need to move back into GOD's plan every day.  We need to draw close to our wonderful FATHER in Heaven and pray to HIM constantly and ceaselessly about everything.  We need to read HIS word and listen to HIS voice.  We need to love our neighbours and forgive those who sin against us.  We need to ask GOD to forgive us our sins.  

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER GOD, today I pray that I may follow righteousness and be a loving, giving person.  I pray FATHER that you forgive my sins as I forgive those who sin against me.  I pray FATHER that YOU will give me life, prosperity and honour.  I pray all of this in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

And God will make your paths straight!

Following on the verse in Proverbs that we should "lean not on our own understanding" but we should submit to GOD, and HE will make our paths straight.

We all have plans and often we start out with great intentions.  We seem to have everything in order and then things start to go awry.  This often happens because we did not consult with GOD to see that our plans line up with GOD's plan for our lives.

The closer we draw to GOD the more our plans will start to line up with what GOD wants for our lives and the more we will see the hand of GOD in everything that we do.  But we need to take everything to GOD in prayer.  We need to read HIS word daily and listen to HIS voice in our lives.

Prayer:  Heavenly FATHER GOD, today I pray that YOU will make my path straight and that I can hear YOUR voice when I start to make any plans.  Let me listen to YOUR guidance and if YOU put obstacles in my way let me take heed of that.  FATHER I want to be in YOUR plan and I want YOU in my life.  I therefore humbly ask that YOU hear my prayers and that YOU show me the right way.

I pray all of this in the Holy name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Lean not on your own understanding!

GOD tells us not to lean on our own understanding, but to trust in HIM with all our hearts.  This means that we need to take everything to GOD first.  And if it is GOD's will then let it be done and if not, then let GOD be the leader of our lives. 

We cannot know what tomorrow will bring and we cannot change what tomorrow will bring.  Only GOD knows what tomorrow will bring and only GOD is in charge.

Let us not boast about what we will do tomorrow but rather let us start to say, "IF it is GOd's will, then I will do this or that".   GOD has an eternal plan for us and that plan leads to a life eternal in Heaven with our dear FATHER. 

Prayer:  Heavenly FATHER GOD, I pray in Jesus name that YOU will take charge of my life and teach me to always take all my plans to YOU for YOUR divine approval.  Let me not do anything without asking YOU FATHER to lead my life.  YOUR way is perfect and I humbly ask FATHER that YOU take over my life and lead me to YOUR perfect way.  I pray all of this in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Happy Mother's Day

Today is Mother's Day and we wish all our mothers a truly beautiful day.  May GOD Bless you all richly throughout the day and indeed throughout the coming year.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER GOD, today we pray a blessing on all the mothers reading this blog.   FATHER we ask that you bless them and their families and that YOUR immense peace fills their hearts.  We ask all of this in the Holy Name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Christ lives in me!

Christ lives in me and you.  We die to ourselves when we accept Christ as our Redeemer.  We can no longer live for ourselves but we need to honour our Saviour and let Him come and live in us.

GOD gave us the Way, the Truth and the Life through the death of HIS beloved Son Jesus Christ.  That whoever believes in Him shall not die but shall have life everlasting.  This is the fulfilment of promise made by GOD to lead us to Salvation.

In order to have Jesus come and live in us, we need to clean our houses.  That is to say we need to forgive those who sin against us and we need to ask GOD to forgive our sins.  We need to draw close to GOD through prayer and by reading HIS word daily.  We need to love our neighbours as ourselves.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER GOD, I thank YOU that YOU sent YOUR Son Jesus Christ to live in me.  I humbly ask that YOU forgive my sins as I forgive all those who have sinned against me.  I pray FATHER that YOU would show me where I can glorify YOUR Holy Name.  I pray all of this in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

The Ascension!

Jesus ascended into Heaven and He now sits at the right hand of GOD our FATHER.  Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.  No one goes to the FATHER except through Him. (John 14:6)

At the end of days, Jesus will be our judge and He will separate us, the goats from the sheep (Matthew 25:31-46).

Today we celebrate the 40 days after Easter, when Jesus ascended into Heaven.  It is a truly Holy Day, and it fulfilled so many of GOD's promises to us.  GOD sent HIS only begotten Son so that we might be saved from our sins and have eternal life with HIM.

So today let us celebrate this momentous occasion.  The ascension of our Lord and Saviour into Heaven where He now sits!

Prayer:  Heavenly FATHER GOD, I thank YOU for today and for the celebration of the risen CHRIST YOUR Son.  I thank YOU FATHER that YOU sent YOUR Son to save me.  I humbly pray FATHER that as I forgive those who sin against me, YOU would forgive my sins.  I pray FATHER that I may eternal life with YOU.  I pray all this in the Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Forgiveness!

King David had committed adultery with Bathsheba.  They had a child and the child died.  David had not only committed adultery, he had coveted his neighbour's possession, then he committed murder when he sent Uriah, Bathsheba's husband into the front line of battle to be killed so that he, King David, could have Bathsheba and her child.

Yet in this petition, David falls on his knees to our GOD and asks for forgiveness.  GOD loved King David and promised to make his descendents more numerous than the grains of sand on earth.  

How gracious and awesome is our GOD.  HE promises to blot out our transgressions no matter what they are as long as we do the following:

Truly repent.  Fall on our knees and with sincere hearts ask GOD to forgive us.  Forgive those who have sinned against us.  

Today let us draw close and have a relationship with GOD.  GOD will read our hearts and then if we are truly repentant and sincere, GOD will remove our sins as far as East is from West.  

What amazing grace we have in our GOD.  Our FATHER in Heaven.

Prayer: Heavenly Gracious FATHER in Heaven, I thank YOU for YOUR enormous grace and for YOUR loving kindness to me.  I thank YOU that YOU sent YOUR Son, Jesus Christ to be the sacrificial lamb and to remove my sins with HIS blood shed for me on the cross.  I humbly ask that YOU forgive my sins as I forgive those who sin against me. 

I thank YOU FATHER, for YOUR divine intervention and forgiveness,  in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, my Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Belief in Jesus Christ the way to salvation

For GOD so loved the world, that HE sent HIS only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. " John 3;16.  John goes on to say in verse 18, that whoever believes in Jesus Christ is not condemned. But whoever does not believe in Jesus Christ as our Messiah and Saviour and the only Son of our GOD, our CREATOR, is condemned.

Drawing upon these two statements, it is very clear that in order to get to GOD and a life everlasting, we absolutely need to believe and accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour and as the SON of GOD.

When we pray to GOD we need to acknowledge this bond.  Therefore we need to ask everything from GOD in the name of HIS Son Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER GOD, I thank YOU today that I can pray to YOU and that YOU hear my prayers.   I acknowledge my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  I acknowledge that He is YOUR one and only SON and that He died on the cross and rose again and sits at YOUR right Hand and that He came to this earth to die for my sins.  I humbly ask that YOU forgive my sins as I forgive all those who sin against me.  I ask all of this in the Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Prayer!

GOD tells us that the people who are called by HIS name should humble themselves, pray and seek HIS face.  We should turn from our wicked ways, then HE will hear us from Heaven and HE will forgive us our sins and HE will heal our land.

This is not just the Country we live in GOD is talking about, it is the home we live in and the land we live on.  

Therefore today, let us turn to face our AMAZING Gracious GOD.  Let us humble ourselves.  Let us get down on our knees and pray.  Let us in true humility, ask GOD to forgive our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.  And then we KNOW that GOD will hear our prayers.  HE will forgive our sins and HE will heal our land and us.

GRACIOUS GOD.  GRACIOUS FATHER.

Prayer: Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent FATHER GOD.  I thank YOU that YOU that YOU have given me this wonderful opportunity to heal myself and my land.  I forgive those who sin against me.  I very humbly ask FATHER, that YOU forgive my sins.  I ask FATHER that you heal me and heal my land.  I pray this in the Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Pray and know that GOD hears our prayers!

GOD hears our prayers.  If our prayers are in line with HIS will, HE will answer them.  When our prayers are not answered, we need to question ourselves and not GOD.

Are we praying for the right things?
Are we praying for the right reasons?
Do we know GOD and what HE wants for our lives?
Have we asked GOD to forgive us and have we forgiven those who have sinned against us?

These questions are indeed extremely soul searching. 

When we walk in our own ways and when we move away from GOD it is far more likely that our prayers will go unanswered.

When we ask GOD to help us, we must be willing to submit to HIS divine will.  In order to know GOD's will for our lives, we need to be in a relationship with GOD.  We need to trust GOD implicitly.  We need to read HIS word.  We need to pray continually and for the right things.  We need to ask GOD for forgiveness for our sins.  

And lastly we need to remember that GOD only wants the very best for each one of us.  So when we are praying for the right motives and for the right things, we know and we can have confidence that GOD will not only hear our prayers, but that they are answered. 

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER GOD, I want to be in a relationship with YOU.  I humbly ask that YOU forgive my sins as I forgive all those who have sinned against me.  I want to know YOUR will for my life FATHER.    

I trust FATHER that YOU will hear my prayers and that YOU will answer them.  I ask this in the name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Rejoice - Pray without ceasing!

We are to pray without ceasing and we are to rejoice in the Lord.  We need to give thanks to our gracious GOD.  For GOD loves us and HE wants to hear our prayers, and our thanks and all about our lives.  HE is interested in us and HE wants a relationship with us.

Today draw close to this awesome Creator GOD and rejoice loudly and pray without ceasing!

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER GOD, I thank YOU that YOU are gracious and kind and loving and forgiving.  Forgive my sins as I forgive those who sin against you.  I love YOU FATHER GOD.  I pray all of this in the Holy name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Blessed!

We, as Christians are Blessed!  We have GOD's grace and we have forgiveness for our sins.  We live on this wonderful earth and we are made in the image of our FATHER GOD.

GOD calls us all HIS children.  We therefore need to honour our FATHER and love our FATHER and serve HIM.  We need to put HIM above all else.  We need to read HIS word to know HIS will for our lives.

Today let us call ourselves truly blessed and let us pray together in the way Jesus taught us.
Matthew 6: 9-13

Prayer:

              9 “This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our FATHER in Heaven,
   hallowed be Your name,
              10    Your kingdom come,
   Your will be done,
      on earth as it is in heaven.
            11    Give us today our daily bread.
            12    And forgive us our debts,
       as we also have forgiven our debtors.
           13    And lead us not into temptation,
      but deliver us from the evil one.

For Thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory,

Forever and ever.  Amen.

Trust in God!

GOD will be with us wherever we go!  Our GOD is an awesome, wonderful GOD.  HE tells us, no rather HE commands us to not be afraid! Of anything!  HE tells us to be strong and courageous because HE is with us.

There is no greater gift in life than to know that we are never ever alone.  We have to face nothing on our own.  We have the CREATOR of the universe on our side.  And not only on our side, but with us.

What a blessing we have!

Prayer: Heavenly FATHER GOD,  I thank YOU today that YOU are always with me.  I thank YOU that I am never alone.  I praise YOUR HOLY NAME and humbly ask FATHER that YOU never leave me.  I pray this in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.
